We Lesharo owners, see them as Renault Trafic I platform trucks, made in France. Winnebago Ind sold their interest is a sole-licensing agreement to a private business called MobilityRV in 1994. Winnebago did this to get loose from the plethora of warranty claims lodged against them for the poor service performed by their largely untrained service staff through their dealer network... a few Pioneer Laser Discs from AMC-Renault and satchels of test equipment does not make for competent service personnel. Today, we buy parts in South America, Europe and through RockAuto for most all parts and buy them as the Renault Trafic I TXX, Renault R25 (2.2L)for the gasoline engines and similarly for the 2.1L diesel (852) and turbo-diesels (J8S). There are some parts that are shared with the Renault Fuego/R18i (sportwagon), Eagle Medallion (Renault R21) and 2,1L TDs '85-'87 JEEP as marketed in North America. The only part of the vehicle that is Winnebago is the coach on the back that was cheaply fabricated, supports almost no weight and the joints/seams tend to leak like sieves requiring Eternabond and Dicor caulking every so often. There are a handful of coach parts that are still available through Winnebago's dealer network with LichtsinnRV, the nation's largest. |
