It does look like a Mercedes-Benz LK, but the door handles are strange. Possibly a version built by Mercedes-Benz do Brasil just before they introduced the Accelo and Atego range. |

Nissan Atleon ? |

The Nissan Atleon was produced 2003-06, too late for this film. Also there seems to be no distribution of Nissan Diesel trucks in Brazil. |

It is indeed an MB with facelifted in 1999 cab of LK/LN. The names are 712C, 914C... and bigger 1215C... 1618M. This one looks pretty small so is rather one of the first two. Link to "www.machadocaminhoes.com.br" -- Last edit: 2007-11-17 16:48:43 |

Incidentally, the Nissan Atleon is made in Spain by Nissan Motor (the car company, as opposed to Nissan Diesel, which is separate). http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/COMPANY/PROFILE/EN_ESTABLISHMENT/index.html Nissan Diesel is owned by the Volvo Group (which makes Volvo trucks and buses but not Volvo cars, which are made by Ford). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Diesel Volvo Group also owns Renault Trucks, which is therefore not owned by Renault, which has a strategic alliance with Nissan Motor. So that's clear, then. ![]() |

So Nissan trucks and Renault trucks have a link, Nissan cars and Renault cars have a link, but Nissan trucks are not linked to Nissan cars, and Renault trucks are not linked to Renault cars... interesting ![]() |

I think so. As of July this year, Volvo Group held 96 % of Nissan Diesel and preparations underway to make it a wholly-owned subsidiary. http://www.nissandiesel.co.jp/ENGLISH/NEWSRELEASE/2007/070725.html Nissan Motor previously owned a stake in Nissan Diesel, but it's not clear if it was ever a majority holding. http://www.nissandiesel.co.jp/ENGLISH/CORP/PROFILE/p20_07.pdf (Acrobat PDF file) Volvo Group acquired Renault V. I. (now Renault Trucks) in 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Trucks |
