Did Slough build exports to RHD/Commonwealth countries or supply any CKD kits?? |

I'd say the Slough role - making DS/ID for the rest of RHD world - was slowly ceasing when Quai de Javel's production efficency was growing up. For example, in Australia before 1961-1966 local assembling, RHD sedans were exported from Slough at first but later directly from France. Because of lower price. |

I've found a comment that Slough-build DS and ID both had black front aprons, while F build black apron was DS only, suggesting this is an F build. But Slough builds had much more chrome (bumpers, boot hinges etc) compared to F (stainless steel and/or painted). And there were rear light differences for Slough (round reflectors, black number plate lights) but these changed formats with dates, and I'm not really sure what happened when. The plate AR 8900 is odd - usual EAK format in 60s was Kxx 123 - the only reference to white on black AB 1234 I can find is military, with AF for air force, KA and KB for army and KN for navy. Other government cars were GK with various mixes of letters and numbers, and diplomatic plates were different. So unless this is a fake, it means something with 8899 predecessors, but no idea what. |
