I think it's an early +8. They trickled into US in early 70s (until stopping in 1971??), and then 1974+ or 1977+ (sources differ) a new effort used an LPG propane conversion to get round the emissions laws, accompanied by bigger bumpers, taller windscreen and other tweaks. This looks normal bumper, but interesting fully solid door without cutaway - presumably a US safety requirement. Different sources (online and book) give varying dates for what happened when, but the gist seems consistent of a few years import from launch (1968 to 1971-ish), a break (1972 to mid-70s) then mid-70s revival with LPG and other tweaks for US (and CDN, though not needing the LPG as much looser emissions requirements) through specialist dealers rather than official Morgan network, though no doubt Malvern offered support. This is the most detailed summary I found, although no mention of full doors. |
