September 1960 onwards (13" wheels) MkII CA the cab would not determine the wheelbase as the loadbed would take account for any increase in length, unlike the van. The first trucks had suicide doors but they quickly changed. Almost certain a long wheelbase chassis here. The short wheelbase truck was I think more common and I'm thinking Bedford may have produced the chassis-cab long or short wheelbase for another company to add the drop-side body? Only known chassis code was CASC or CALC *chassis-cab" and CASD and CALD did not exist as dropside wagon. -- Last edit: 2019-02-19 21:17:49 |

Yes Mk.III not Mk.II - looking through the side window I assumed it was a shallow windscreen - but the outside bottom corner was just visible (if I had examined it better) - the deeper Mk.III windscreen. |

As with several of the other vehicles in this series, this was the only shot the vehicle appeared in, no other angles - nice from a stylistic point of view, but quite frustrating for car spotters! At least this one showed the entire vehicle, rather than just an arty-farty close up of a grille and a headlight... |
