Well, at least it wasn’t an SHO ![]() |

This Taurus is a 1989 model. |

This is a 1990 Taurus GL. I recorded this episode and it shows the '90 dash and pre-91 valve covers on the engine. Look at that underside. There is not a single speck of rust on this car! Why couldn't they have destroyed a rust-belt Taurus ![]() And I could've used those taillights. I hate the amber turn signals on my '91 SHO. -- Last edit: 2007-07-08 05:11:11 |

I believe they chose the Taurus because it represented the average American sedan. |

They chose it because the price was right. Plus they're located in California. You think they'd go import a rust-belt car for the purpose of destroying? |

Naw, but I can dream LOL |

According to www.bar.ca.gov, the license plate NODOUDT that appears on the show from time to time is from a 1990 Ford Taurus, possibly this one. (The correctly spelled variant "NODOUBT" has been worn by three different cars since 2001 (a '90 Mitsubishi Eclipse, a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a '95 Honda Civic)) -- Last edit: 2008-10-16 04:53:36 |

Sorry I just saw that comment of, "They should've got a Rust Belt Taurus" the cost of going there and transporting it back would cost more than the car itself, and at the end of the day it's still a 1st gen Taurus, aka the car that tell you to report if they're in a School Zone |

This was just a plain Jane Taurus, not an SHO. At the time of destruction, this was probably not even 20 years old. If a 2004 Taurus were destroyed, would it bother you? |
