Possibly Aus-made with local body on imported chassis - I've got a vague book reference implying local-build Cowleys underway in 1925. This style may be a couple of years later?? |

Flatnose introduced late 1926. A 1928 car is described in Jon Presnell's book as "bodied in Australia", it may be necessary therefore, to define more exactly what you mean by local build. Chassis fabrication from scratch seems unlikely, assembly of chassis from ckd kits is more possible, and bodies by Holden or others being the local element. Some oddities, early British Cowley flatnose tourers two doors only, this has four, and the scuttle mounted sidelamps may indicate Australian coachwork. -- Last edit: 2017-06-28 22:55:17 |
