That front end is based on the 1963 Ford Galaxie but beyond that it gets a little fuzzy. |

It looks like an amalgam of 63 Ford front end with 68-69 Mopar side profile |

I'm pretty sure the rear end is has the round lights from that era of Fords too, not sure if it's visible in this episode but these have been in a couple of episodes this series. I think '63 Ford Galaxie would be the correct ID. |

Yes, this is based on a 1963 Ford Galaxie 4-door sedan, just with a slightly simplified body Link to "assets.speedtv.com" |

Didn't NYPD use black and white livery in the '60s and '70s? |

In the 1960s to the early 70s, marked patrol cars in the NYPD fleet were black, green and white, but in 1973, the NYPD changed the paint scheme for their marked patrol fleet to water blue and white as well as giving them the new NYPD logo. |

Doubt any of the '63s were in service 'that' long, though?? Plus I'm not too sure they bothered too much repainting the older ones, look at some of the movies filmed 1972-75 and you'll see them in both color schemes?? (And I think Chicago PD also had this color combo in the '60's as well??) |
