I'd say it's a 1977+ Lincoln Continental Towncar.

This is not a 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car!

- because the opera windows are missing...its only a Lincoln Continental, not the level "Town Car".
- because only the 1977 Modell has fender skirts at the rear fenders, but i cannot see them!

This picture shows a 1978 or 1979 Lincoln Continental. In both years the body was exactly the same...

Almost.
For 1979, there was a "Collector Series" package available on the town car for the last year of production of this body.
That special edition did NOT have opera windows.
The photos are not good enough to show it, but they also had slightly gold-toned grilles.

(You are right about the '77's having rear fender skirts, something the '78's and '79's did not have.)

Here is an illustrative picture of one of the special edition '79's:

Notice the blind rear "C" panel and gold-toned grille.

It's not Collector's Series as it doesn't have Collector's Series script emblem on the C pillar, there is just Lincoln emblem, so it's 1978-1979 Town Car without opera window (and it it's Town Car, there is Town Car script on the front fender and Town Car does not need to have opera window which was separate option to the Town Car package).

A Continental with the opera-window delete option does not mean it doesn't carry the Town Car package. In fact, this car is indicative of such, for it wears the Town Car lettering on the front quarter panels.

This is a '78 or '79 Continental Town Car - possibly identifiable if this paint color was used for only one of these two years.
