What do you mean by "completely different"? ![]() |

The internet is not always a reliable source. Many people refer to these cars just as Crown Victoria, and that works in a 1950:s context where it´s not necessesary to keep them apart from these: /vehicle_1743-Ford-Crown-Victoria-1992.html So Fairlane is essential to have in the name, otherwise we´ll have disorder in the database ![]() |

Well, there are old and new Impala for example, so separate them is not mandatory ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-10-30 20:51:42 |

It was one of the models in the new Fairlane series, introduced for 1955: http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Ford/1955/pages/55-03_JPG.htm Wikipedia mentions the Crown Victoria on a page about Ford Fairlane, as a version of the Fairlanes which is correct. On that page there´s a link to Crown Victoria and on that page there´s no mention about the connection to Fairlanes in 1955-56. Wikipedia has got many advantages, but also lots of errors. |

That metal post strip in the middle and over the roof makes it a Crown victoria some have a Plexieglass in the front part of the roof some don't, it's pre-sunroof. -- Last edit: 2006-10-31 18:20:09 |
