I can't prove it but I think all of the cars in this movie are 'made for movie'. They all 'look like' something but the detail is not there.

you mean replicas ? they all suffered quite an abuse during the movie so yeah I can't really think they used actual and expensive late 20s cars ...

I am very familiar with these vehicles. These cars were all replicas built in England specifically for this movie. They all used the same Jaguar 6 cylinder engine, with manual transmission. All of the custom chassis were identical. After the film production team left Israel, the vehicles were kept in storage, and then eventually seized by Israeli customs. Who knows where they are now.

The Packard used in the Movie Sahara 1983 still is a survivor. It spent at least 30 years on the roof of a Classic car Museum but is now undergoing a restoration It has, as all the race cars in the Movie, a custom Coach Built body fabricated in England out of aluminum, formed and nailed over a wooden frame work. The car sits on a Packard frame. This is the actual car that Brooke Shields drove in the movie and is currently running and driving.
