![]() ![]() 1974 made-for-TV disaster film about several groups of people dealing with a severe hurricane named Hilda as it batters the coast of Mississippi, including a husband-wife couple trapped in the eye out at sea, their children at home awaiting their return only to be evacuated by the National Guard, a group of aviators in a NWS aircraft, an old man who tries to ride out the hurricane with his dog only to decide to evacuate but is stranded by his truck failing to start, and a middle-aged couple hosting a literal hurricane party and refusing to evacuate, with predictable results. Unfortunately these many subplots don't mix together all that well and the film feels quite muddled as a result. Maybe if one or two of the subplots had been dropped, the film would have flowed a lot better. Starring Larry Hagman, Jessica Walter, Martin Milner, Barry Sullivan, Frank Sutton, and Will Geer. This was Frank Sutton's final film appearance, airing posthumously after he unfortunately died of a heart attack at only 50 years old, shortly after filming wrapped ![]() All of the one-star cars are from stock footage of an actual hurricane, most likely Hurricane Camille which struck in 1969, though the name of the Hurricane, Hilda, and the dates given match a hurricane that struck the East Coast in 1964. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Possibly a C-130 Hercules or similar aircraft?
