a city of a better tomorrow... Isn't nowadays the same situation in Nowa Huta as in Germany, that these satellite-towns of the 50ies to the early 70ies (West Germany) and late 80ies (GDR) are causing very big problems? Architecturial and mainly social problems? Many of them were blasted down (many of the house-blocks, not of the problems...) -- Last edit: 2009-03-14 00:46:16 |

Architectural maybe not (well depends what we understand by this, it is under the care of a conservation officer), but social for sure - it doesn't have good reputation. That's why I put there this " " and also because it is here one of the biggest architectonical symbols of the "socrealism in the art" era (1949-56), next to the Palace of Science and Culture and Warsaw's M.D.M. district. Though actually this style isn't yet visible on this ordinary buildings from the pics with cars (it was reserved for these in the city centre). -- Last edit: 2009-03-14 21:04:17 |

IIRC /movie.php?id=75902 is set against the background of the building of Nowa Huta? |
