I guess Humber Hawk etc. is close for the windscreen and quarter-lites?

Hillman Minx Estate, could be anything from Mk.III to VIIIB. Not a Commer Express, the side windows look factory.

And it's passing the State Cinema in Kilburn, a quick walk from my bedsit back in the 1960s. Not that I could afford too many nights at the cinema, but I did see "King Rat" there.

There was a lot of cooperation between Guy and Thornycroft on the fibreglass cabs in the late 50s to early 60s, both were really too small to be independent, and got swept into D. Stokes and Company, (failed vehicle makers) Ltd., by various routes. The link below is to a Swiftsure dray once operated by Joule's of Stone, Staffs, whose telephone number before the introduction of STD (Subscriber Trunk Dialling, not sexually transmitted disease you at the back) was Stone 1. The vehicle in the picture shows differences, but the wheels look similar, and some of the differences could be accounted for by the van body.

Trouble is, the van body is clearly coachbuilt. Sure, it could be Guy or Thorneycroft, or for that matter any of several even smaller manufacturers; Vulcan, Proctor ...

Can't agree with you on either Vulcan or Proctor. Vulcan stopped in 1953 and Proctor in 1952, both pre-dating this type of cab. It might just be a Rowe Hillmaster, if you are thinking of small manufacturers, but that's very unlikely.

Fairly sure the cab is the manufacturers as its completely separate from the van body . Shame signwriting can't be read , bottom line says furniture superstores. The square front mudguard cut out is unusual and ais similar but not same as Guy Warrior.
