johnfromstaffs wrote Rolls-Royce 10hp, I think.

I guess as there are so few 10hp cars surviving (maybe four?) this one should be able to be identified by chassis number.

Is it possible that it is the one surviving 15 hp car?? - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_15_hp

There is a four cylinder 20 hp here in NZ but from looking at photos of it, it appears to be longer than our mystery car.

Being NZ more likely a Bluebird.

Assembled in NZ from semi-knocked down kits (SKD) imported from Canada. Approximately 300 imported that year.

The system was different in Australia where the cars were partially assembled from CKD (completely knocked down) kits ex-Canada by Holdens in South Australia, and then finished in the individual state capital assembly plants.

It is a Matchless. You can see the M on the mag drive cover. Date is circa 1948-50 - I think. Either a model G3 350 or a G80 500. I am not sure what year Matchless change the mag to the front of the engine. 2022-12-04 10:44

Most likely a 1937 or '38 Buick coupe. A pity there isn't a front on view. 2022-08-07 03:39

electra225 wrote Not a McLaughtin-Buick built in Canada as a right-hand-drive ?

Just because it is right hand drive does not necessarily mean it is from Canada. There were plenty of right hand drive Buicks built in Flint for export. All of the Buicks imported to New Zealand pre WW2 by GMNZ came from Flint.
