| These last 2 would be great to capture... | 2023-05-26 17:32 | ||
| The black car in the comment above is a different model (370Z), and considerably newer. Probably deserves its own page. | 2023-05-26 17:31 | ||
| Not sure if this is intentional in the movie, or if this was just a random car they had on hand (both /vehicle_1744465-Datsun-240Z-S30-1973.html |

| Bumping 1979 to 1980. That specific 2-tone color combination (898 Silver Mist Metallic on Medium Gray) was offered for the 1980 model year only. | 2023-05-26 17:28 | ||
| I Love it! No T-Tops for 1979, so the model year is wrong. That hood vent style actually started for 1981 on the Turbos only and hit the regular models in 1982. I wish I could see inside to see if it's supposed to be manual or automatic (all '81 turbos were auto), but without any specific 1981 turbo features, I would say 1982-83 for the "model-model" year. | 2023-05-26 17:19 | ||
| Wondering how we got 1981 as a model year? Plate maybe? The car could be a 1981, but it could also be a 1979-80, and the wheels were for those 2 years alone... | 2023-05-26 17:12 | ||
| 1977-78 280Z based on the metal rear bumper gap filler trim strip mounted below the (missing) taillights. That piece was only on the S30 for those 2 model years. | 2023-05-09 13:59 | ||
| 1970-71 240Z. 919 Sunshine Yellow was only available those 2 years. | 2023-04-19 01:21 | ||
| 1979-80 Datsun 280ZX 2-Seater in GL trim. | 2023-04-19 01:19 | ||
| If anyone is still working on this series, there's a pretty good shot of a Datsun 240Z on blocks in episode 5.3 and again in episode 5.4 in the scenes where Mike gets beat up. | 2023-04-19 01:14 | ||
| I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know what they claim the car(s) to be. I keep hearing "240Z", but both the widebody car and the flip-car that are pictured all over the web have later (1974-78) taillights. Not an easy swap, and not a common one either. Generally, people are taking steps to make their 260Z/280Z look like a 240Z, not the other way around. They almost certainly they used later S30 cars that still have somewhat less value than the 240Z. Likely, all are 1975-78 280Zs, no matter what they claim in the script. | 2023-03-29 21:40 | ||
| Pretty good animation! Body colored bumper makes for 1982-83 model. | 2023-03-29 21:28 | ||
| Definitely not a 1970 model. It's a hodgepodge. No vents in the hatch, so at least a late 1971(.5) model. 1973 (only) rear bumper guard placement. Front bumper is custom-cut and the wheels are later than the car. Those wheels debuted after that tail light style was no longer available. I'm thinking the rear bumper is the best "likely to be original" hint, so probably 1973. | 2023-03-29 21:26 | ||
| Hi night cub! All the way to the last part. 1972 only. For '73 the bumper guards moved a few inches toward the center on the front, and a few inches further from the center on the rear, so it gets a little confusing. The also got a little larger. This is the 1970-72 guard and placement, with the 1972-73 only 113 green. | 2023-03-29 21:19 | ||
| I'm going with 1982 (only). Its's a 2+2 with T-Tops, which wasn't offered as a combination until 1981, but medium blue as a top color (almost certainly over platinum to get the two-tone interior) makes for a one year possibility. | 2023-03-29 21:13 | ||
| 1979-81 280ZX 2+2 in GL trim. | 2023-03-29 21:07 | ||
| Yes... 1977-78. | 2023-03-29 21:06 | ||
| 240Z... if I'm looking through the blur correctly, maybe a 1973 model (only) based on the location of the bumper guards. The over-rider bar is aftermarket (Amco), but was probably dealer installed. | 2023-03-29 21:01 | ||
| 2005 was the first year for those wheels, but only on a 35th Anniversary Edition that wasn't offered in red. 2006 up in the regular model line. | 2023-03-29 20:46 | ||
Thank You! I missed it entirely. Guess I've been busy the last couple weeks. ![]() |

| 1973 (only, based on the bumper guard placement, and also a US spec car for the same reason) 240Z. | 2023-02-01 16:09 | ||
| Looks like this is a 2005 35th Anniversary Edition in Silverstone. If not, it's a 2006+ | 2022-12-20 17:30 | ||
| 1982-83. | 2022-12-03 20:00 | ||
| 1980-81 model in GL trim. | 2022-12-03 19:55 | ||
| Actually, 1981 only, as thus. No t-tops in 1979. No t-tops in a 2+2 in 1980. Everything about this one is 1979-81, but the t-tops and 2+2 in combination eliminate the first 2 years. GL Trim. | 2022-11-08 23:11 | ||
| Looks like a 2005 35th anniversary edition to me... | 2022-11-05 22:19 | ||
| Looks like the glint of a Series I hatch vent there, so 1970 or early 1971 model year. The bumper guards have been removed, and maybe the rubber corner strips as well, or the bumper may have been changed to the plain chrome version available in some other markets. | 2022-11-02 12:46 | ||
| 1982-83 for this one, and coupé for the 2 seat version rather than hatchback (for the 2+2)... | 2022-11-02 12:32 | ||
| Agreed that the door badges ended in 2009, but I might go the other direction. Front sonar started in 2009, so a 2009 LE with later wheels would be a possibility, or it could be up to a 2015 SL with the door badges being added. My 2015 Platinum Reserve has the V8 door badges, for what it's worth (and I'm sure they were added). I guess 2009 LE is the earliest possibility as thus, so that's what we go with. | 2022-10-20 14:27 | ||

| 1982-83 for the panda paint scheme. | 2022-10-20 13:48 | ||
| That double spoiler is 1985 without the CHMSL and 1986 with... not entirely sure, but the shadow makes me think 1986 for this one. | 2022-10-20 13:45 | ||
| Not a Supra. This is a 4-cylinder car. Specifically, a 1980 Celica with the USGP Option package. | 2022-10-20 13:39 | ||
| 1986 (only). | 2022-10-20 13:29 | ||
| It's a 610 Coupé... Somewhere around 1974-75, but someone may know exactly? | 2022-09-28 01:01 | ||
| Early 1974 (only) 260Z based on the bumper style. | 2022-09-22 16:15 | ||
| 1981 (only) 280ZX 2+2 Hatchback. Silver B pillar is 1979-81, and there were no T-tops offered in the 2+2 until 1981. GL trim. | 2022-09-22 16:11 | ||
| I agree... an early one. | 2022-07-08 16:03 | ||
| 1984-1985 normally aspirated 2+2. | 2022-07-08 16:00 | ||
| 1986 model (only) 2+2 Hatchback. | 2022-07-08 15:56 | ||
1977 or 1978 model... bumpers and hubcaps. This is actually a twin to mine before the bumpers and wheels were changed.![]() |

| 1981 to 1983... 1980 had a different hood as well. | 2022-07-08 15:40 | ||
| 1984 only, I believe, based on the lack of hood vents but the exposed bedside tiedowns. | 2022-07-08 15:39 | ||
| I set it as a Ranger. If anyone who knows them better than I do wants to establish a model year, I'll come back and add it... | 2022-07-08 14:50 | ||

| 1979-81 280ZX. MAYBE a 2+2? Hard to tell with the blur and the angle, but I would say yes. | 2022-05-09 01:49 | ||

| 1977-78 US 280Z Hubcaps, but the bumpers are the 1974.5 260Z and 1975-76 280Z version. Hubcaps are a whole lot easier to change. | 2022-05-03 02:06 |
