| After a quick search the hearse appears in Season 2 episode 6 "The Lochdubh Deluxe" 00:43:27. I cannot currently get a good screen capture, but possibly with another attempt? |

| Bedford CALZ Herbert Lomas, but I think a MkII with single rear door and non-recessed door handle on the cab, so June 1959 to June 1964. Not ruling out MkIII but I think it less likely. Interesting partial registration; could it be Belfast 'OI 243'which looks better for the spacing? I cannot determine the dates for OI Belfast series registrations. However Wikipedia makes it too late being April 1969 to April 1982 so either re-registered or a false one for the movie. |

| July 1949 to October 1950 Fordson Thames ET6 or October 1950 February 1962 Thames ET6 (Thames becoming the manufacturer's brand wheras before it was the model name). More likely the later larger volume truck. '4D' badging signified 4-cylinder Ford diesel. |

| ^ Thank you CougarTim, that explains the wipers. It would be unusual to go from parallel wipers to clap-hands, which is generally the older design.. |

| I'm no expert but comparing pictures of the 1963 and 1964 Bel Airs, I tend to agree electra225, based on the following. For 1963 parallel wipers as the main sedan (1964 having clap hands), but for the rear view, 1964 straight edged rear trunk lid (1963 having a dip in the middle). Conclusion two cars, on for close-ups (studio blue screen perhaps) and another later model for location shots? However choosing between Bel Air or Biscayne? |

| There were at least two Austin 12/4 Taxis in Hollywood at the time, both came back to the UK at some time after 1951. 1930 Austin 12/4 Taxi High Lot GH 2362 here Foreign Correspondent, 1940, Waterloo Bridge, 1940 Random Harvest 1942 The Paradine Case, 1947 Royal Wedding 1951 1932 Austin 12/4 Taxi 'High Lot' Saloon [69691] VU 8765 here Foreign Correspondant 1940 Waterloo Bridge, 1940 I Married an Angel, 1942 The Locket, 1946 Royal Wedding, 1951 The taxi in "Kiss the Blood Off My Hands" from 1948, is similar enough to 'GH 2362' as to be a replica of the same taxi but based on a different chassis/front end. -- Last edit: 2023-06-22 12:55:38 |

I believe its a 'made-for-movie' London taxi (a Hollywood attempt at an Austin 12/4 taxi) based probably on another British car. The bonnet (hood) is too long for any 1930s taxi also the scuttle and windscreen design is rather basic. If so they have gone to a lot of work for less than a minute of screen time. Seeing a video the movie it looks to have wire wheels. -- Last edit: 2023-06-21 23:02:20 |

| The thumbnail picture has the same cab as the main picture with the revised headlamp positions and early grille. A list of "ARMY Vehicle Registration Numbers (VRN) [Modern]" can be found on-line which can only provide a snap-shot of army registrations. https://studylib.net/doc/7616272/vehicle-registration-numbers--vrn- This (incomplete) listing suggests the Bedford RL had 'B' registrations in the series starting with 'BJ' and up to 'BS' before resuming with 'CE'. Therefore its less likely a 'BE' actually existed and was modified or generated for the TV series. |

| ...so allowing them to bend history slightly by using a 1950s truck with a Chocolate-and-Cream GWR livery from at least the 1940s. Trying to be kind to them, its OK... However I would have preferred an earlier truck or a BR livery. |

| Early ribbed rear bumpers changed to plain bumper about 1958-1959? About a year before the larger-windowed doors, about which I agree with jfs. | 2023-06-17 23:17 | ||
| 'OXT 670' seen before in The Informers, Movie, 1963. Some number-plate manipulation with CXT 670 being a 1936 registration, and KLM (a poor hand-painted attempt) from 1947. |

| By enlarging one picture, it appears the raised part is a separate panel, not formed from the inset panel itself. So I'm assuming so far that its possible it can be opened or hinged to provide additional ventilation? |
2023-06-16 12:17 | ||
Modesty panels on desks yes but ambulance drivers don't normally wear mini skirts I think! Found on two other ambulances (patient transport in all cases). A guess. Some sort of ventilation - air inlet? Or some sort of equipment or storage on the inside of the cab? -- Last edit: 2023-06-16 12:09:29 |

| Agreed probably Oxford Hire Car introduced late 1949 or early 1950 and based on the Series II Oxford Taxi (pressed-steel wheels); so extremely rare. I suggest we keep Series II in line with the taxi version, although the Series I Hire Car probably never existed. Six light Series III Taxi and Hire Car introduced October 1950. |

| An early RL with its original headlamp position unchanged from the S-type plus the original rectangular side-lights, as introduced mid-1952. | 2023-06-13 22:02 | ||
| Production of the RL started mid-1952 for both military and civilian use. Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" The earlier types had headlamp mounts in the same position as the S-type on the existing front wings therefore with the increased ride-height the headlamps were higher. The one in the movie has the later lower headlamps (and revised side-light) locations; adaptor panels were fitted in the existing wings. The change happened in either 1953 or 1954 - more work needed to see if it can be better determined, but military registrations do not help here. |

| Not a Martin Walter / Dormoble window set-up, 'so one of the converters' applies. Chromed rear quarter bumpers probably added during conversion (fronts are painted as factory finish). |

| ^ I also googled the Matilda truck with similar results. The promotional closeup is the Foden (with a nice new mirror added) it has some rust I think on the door. I haven't seen the movie and, unless its seen in motion, I suspect it could be a non-runner which has been re-painted and any available number-plate has been added. A square format plate is a lot less common. |
