It's especially worth mentioning since it has an original GDR plate and as far as I know, the prewar car scene in the GDR never picked up. My guess is people were scared to drive them presumably for fear of advocating the bourgeoisie and the prewar "Rüstungsindustrie."

That is not true - there was an active prewar scene in the DDR - they even got own license plates.

And as in the whole Eastern Block they drove everything, also stuff from Nazis and later on from the Klassenfeind.

This is Czechoslowakia, not Poland ;)

When I traveled in 2003 -so already 20 years ago- across Poland to Elbing/Elblaģ, Marienburg/Małbork, Danzig/Gdansk, where my father's family is from, my K 70 was always the oldest car on the streets.

As my daily driver-Durango, too. It looks like the basic sixcyl-SXT, has even lower spec interior (no GPS, no entertainment system, no reverse camera, etc), but it has the 5,7 Liter HEMI V8.

Originally 30 of them were built in 2013 for Argentina as civil border patrol cars, but the Argentina went bankrupt once more, and the cars stayed for 1 1/2 years in the backyard in Detroit, until a dealer from Hannover/Germany picked them up.

:hello: AnimatronixX - I found two more local Karosseriebauer on old trailers, Fahnenbruck in Dorsten and Katemann in Heiden.
No idea, if the only made trailers.

P.S. Über meinen 1947er Küppers aus Mönchengladbach läßt sich gar nichts herausfinden. Es gibt nur einen Vermerk beim KBA, daß es irgendwann mal eine Firma dieses Namens gab.

When there are old carrousels from the 60ies and 70ies, you can find several parts, known from different cars.

btw.: are there still a rollercoaster or bumper cars in Audi 60 front styling in process?
In the 70ies they were not rare in West Germany.

Oh, they still are busy there - to arrange the transport of diplomatic luggage.
Until the sanctions increased, you could see time by time 20ft seafreight containers in the backyard of the DPRK embassy in Berlin - all for 'diplomatic' luggage from Beck's beer cans over Miele washing machines up to used E-Klassen and X5.
Seriously, this was the way, how the astonishing many German goods, I saw there, went to DPRK

@AnimatronixX: you got Nachricht auf Mailbox.

@dsl: unfortunately I didn't catched the motive of the year :/
On a local spare parts market I digged in a large bunch of historic photos and postcards and found a postcard from Berlin 1962, Brandenburger Tor at night, obviously before the 13.August 1961. Manufacturer and stamp from West-Berlin, but the motive is from the Eastern side, just one car with DDR plate is parked decorativily. I got excited, because it looked like one of the made for DDR Minxes, but after several closer looks I seems to be just a Mossi 407 ...

Not, when I had been there in Oct 2012.

As it's to read, it obviously was a terrible thing, so extinct quite fast.

Professor Rüdiger Frank, the most profound German-speaking Northkorea-expert, who even had studied there in the early 90ies, had seen only one in over 30 years, as he told me once.
