dhill_cb7 US@Terra. The grille never made it to production per the taurus forum here: https://www.taurusclub.com/threads/1986-taurus-base-ribbed-grille.213394/ will revert to 1986 pending door badging evidence to show early models did not have trim levels on the doors. 2019-12-29 15:29
Terra USThe waterfall grille may have been removed early on or the image they showed was an early production model that never made it too salesroom floors  2019-12-29 13:52

jettalover wrote L trim level taillamps and L seen on the side trim.

I'm not sure how we missed this detail but 1986 L trimmed models appear to have an all black waterfall grille per the brochure: http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/Ford/Taurus/Ford_US%20Taurus_1986.pdf - I haven't seen one with that grille yet and googling "1986 Ford Taurus L" did not shed many results either.

Also, it appears (have not validated yet) that 1986 L/GL may just say Taurus on the front doors without a trim badge? Could the trim badge have been added for 1987 as well? Again only from viewing the brochures is where I am pulling the information from.

shervinator USDue to the stamped tailgate, this is actually a B2000 ('86–'87). And because of the chrome trim, it's an LX. So it should be listed as a 1986 Mazda B2000 LX. 2018-11-06 09:52
Skid USWhat is the blue rectangle on the front bumper, just below the Ford emblem? 2018-06-17 22:46
Skid USDefinitely not a Z28. Steel wheels, assuming they're factory, would indicate a base-model Sport Coupe, although these wire wheelcovers are aftermarket. The primer on the B-pillar might suggest a Type LT badge used to be there, though.

The 250 six was standard on the base model, but the vast majority were ordered with V8s. Mostly the 305, though the Z28's standard LM1 350 was available as an option even on the base Sport Coupe.

somename US84 is correct, note the lack of script over the driver's side headlight, less prominent Town Car script behind the front wheel veres the more noticeable Electronic Fuel Injection badge of earlier models, and the Town Car script on the drivers side of the trunk lid compared to the 81-83 Lincoln block letters. 2016-11-06 02:14
Commander 57 USTough one to pin down in the dark. Most of the key ID factors are shrouded.
We may need Somename's expertise.
