Z2 AU733i - this was the only pre-facelift model offered in Australia. My father owned one of these back in the early 80s.

MisterZ AUI'm going to say 3 stars for this one. It's only driven in 2 scenes throughout the movie, and only within the first 12 minutes - doesn't appear at all after that.

Blu-ray was finally released in 2021. HD upgrade complete (mostly - many SD shots were kept due to different aspect ratio).

kd28682 a écrit If I could just state this. But is Nissan Cedric is a real 1964 and those are real JBV plates which are still around. As for the car it's self it's still around and is under going heavy body work due to heavy rust in the fenders and floor. If your wondering wear I'm getting this info. I happen to be the current owner of the Cedric featured. I hope this clears any misconceptions floating around, Thank you reading.

I hope this is still in Victoria, and I'll get the chance to see it at a Classic Japan or similar in the future!

night cub a écrit Is 1981 correct? Wikipedia says they were released in Oct 1979, I'm guessing as 1980 models. Looks like the early mirror and taillights (1979-81).

Called T-18 in Australia, not Corolla. Fully imported. Plate seems to read ARV- which was issued in January 1980.

Z2 AULate 80/81 headlight/grille. Earlier models had round headlights. Curiously, the plate on this car was issued in early 1983, but this is not that new.

"L 4WD" not needed - all models were 4WD and there was no such trim as L. Note: unlike the US market, which had circular lights on base model DL and square on the GL, AU models had circular lights on the early models, with the rectangular lights replacing them later. The two were never sold side by side. There was also only 1 trim level until 1982.

Z2 AUPlate issued in 1985. Not surprising that the label on the window falsely claims it has a V8, as the car salesman in the movie is a complete snake.

MisterZ AULate 1986+ facelift due to chrome trim on the bumpers and updated wrap around front turn signals (note: only sedans received these changes). I believe this is a base "S" model due to the different, plainer grille type, and thin side moldings. If it were a higher grade, it would have the chrome trimmed grille with centered Toyota badge, and thick side moldings. Note: I can't find any information on this grille type - it's possible that it was introduced later than 1986 (it was not offered pre facelift either).

In any case, code is [AE82] due to having a 1.6L engine (the 1.3L was dropped from sedans in mid-1986).

MisterZ AUI think this is a Fairmont, because the lettering on the back just reads "FORD". If it were a Falcon, the lettering would read "FALCON".

Also, a higher proportion of Fairmonts survived into old age compared to Falcons, because they were more valuable/desirable.

taxiguy a écrit I am not familiar with this model... was there a version of it sold under another name in the United States?

I think the 1985-87 Galant sold in our market was more-or-less the same.

MisterZ AUCan't be 1982 Nissan. It was Datsun from 1981-1983, and Nissan from 1984+. This looks like 1984+.

Also chassis code is just 910 not P910.

MisterZ AUPlate COG887 returns: 1982 (though issued in 1985). This is a Kingswood due to the chrome trim around the rear window (other clues: side moldings, painted side mirror, Kingswood badge at rear).
