Monteverdi ![]() | This Land Rover is a series 2 that probably started off life as a baggage elevator at an airport or similar, hence the special and unusual lighting configuration. Here is an example that was originally registered by the Land Rover factory ... -- Last edit: 2023-06-01 22:52:14 |

Sandie ![]() | Thanks, even better than some extra thumbs. Doesn't help with regard to the chrome side bit but it has rear picnic tables which is a Daimler feature so it musyt have a chrome side strip and I was wrong about it being a reflection. Sorry for my mistake guys. -- Last edit: 2016-05-02 23:17:37 |

slon95 ![]() | Here are all the fragments with this car: https://youtu.be/qHLY2lX7Bxc | 2016-05-02 23:10
Sandie ![]() | Can't the coachlines be what we see here? I'm still not absolutely convinced it has a chrome side strip (not shiny enough or visible enough at the back). As for the Sovereign coachlines, here's ones without coachlines (proving it's not a consistent or at least always well visible feature): /vehicle_56146-Jaguar-Sovereign-XJ40.html /vehicle_56097-Jaguar-Sovereign-XJ40.html I don't think it's useful to sweep this one under the rug with a yet to be entirely convincing identification as the rarest and most expensive model until we see some more shots. Especially as it's two stars so there should be enough of an additional view to conclusively prove whether it has a side strip. For me, the shiny bit isn't shiny enough or consistent enough at this angle to make this a definite identification. I could be wrong, of course. Hopefully, slon95 will be able to help us. And yes, G-MANN all XJ40s had a swage line along the side. Most modern cars do. -- Last edit: 2016-05-02 20:17:36 |

dsl ![]() | Tints, headrests, lots of window and mirror chrome - for a 1988 film before they mucked about with these details too much, I'd be happy with Daimler. Jag Sovereign would have twin coachlines so can be excluded. | 2016-05-02 19:33
G-MANN ![]() | It looks too well aligned to be a reflection. XJ40s didn't have the groove that the Series III had along the side, did they? But if you really insist, we could just go with "Jaguar XJ". -- Last edit: 2016-05-02 18:02:55 |

Sandie ![]() | I don't think there's chrome here. It looks more like a reflection. Notice how parts of the bonnet are light too and how the chrome side strip disappears part way down the back door. If there's really one shouldn't it be visible more consistently? @slon95: Is there more shots, maybe as the car goes away from the camera? |

eLMeR ![]() | Horizontal blinkers, front face holes and inverted "T" grille of a 1958-61 Series II / 1961-68 Series IIa indeed. The location of the former headlamp is still visible on the right (i.e. left part of the picture ), and the ones on the fenders are located too low: as already said by dsl, not a 1969-71 Series IIa / 1971-85 Series III.(1958-68 front face // 1969+ one) If I'm not mistaken, only a clear close view of the windshield vent hinges could help to tell a Series II from a Series IIa (screwed hinges vs. welded ones): ⇒ 1958 Series II (as default identification)? |

janek ![]() | Not sure if real M113 or replica. Theoretically, USSR could get some from Vietnam, as they captured many American stuff and delivered it to the Warsaw Pact countries. But this one looks like replica to me, when comparing to photos of the real M113. Based on BMP, or other (lighter) Soviet tracked vehicle... |

dsl ![]() | Long discussions on how some 68 and 69 US imports did not have sidemarkers at /vehicle_246328-Rover-2000-TC-P6-1969.html and /vehicle_318647-Ford-Cortina-1969.html . The side indicators here might be made-for-Italy (although it has orange front indicators which were normally white on cars for I). | 2016-03-16 04:20
tore-40 ![]() | @supcoach: Actually Standard No. 108 was effective from 1.1 1968 but most U.S. manufacturers used the model year 1968 for the changes. Take Chrysler: They used lights for 1968, 1969 retro reflectors while the standard was changed from lit or reflective to lit and reflective for 1970 on, once again by 1.1, Thus you could find 1968 models produced in 1967 - especially imports - without side markers. For the car above, it is not even U.S. Location, is it? What you see is rather repeaters. |
