G-MANN ![]() | Roof-mounted indicators = 1958-67 | 2014-06-25 19:53
kingjohn ![]() | The bus turning is an AEC Routemaster (RM). Other vehicle not mentioned is a white Ford Escort estate and a Mini on the other side of the road | 2014-01-04 18:18

dsl ![]() | Not 404 but A55 Cambridge (though some consolation points allowed for the same designer - Pininfarina). But you lose points on the Mini - it can't be both a woodie and a Clubman. But the real point scorer is the Rolls Silver Cloud 3 James Young convertible in the background. -- Last edit: 2011-05-05 01:02:42 |

Gag Halfrunt ![]() | I think you mean 404. | 2011-05-05 00:51
Adrian-Hamburg ![]() | In the front is a MINI Clubman (Woodie) and isn´t the second a Peugeot 505 | 2011-05-05 00:41
dsl ![]() | Early Austin 1100 Mk1s had a round badge in the same place - see http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82897 - about halfway down and in the same blue. | 2011-03-14 20:51
dsl ![]() | In that case, I'm going for 1966+ Mk3, which also introduced the larger shield badge within the top of the grille and is - I think - present here. |
2011-03-14 20:33 | ||
chris40 ![]() | I think it's a hybrid: it seems to have a round Morris badge on the front of the bonnet. | 2011-03-14 20:26
chris40 ![]() | I agree entirely; I think I can see the P5's later pattern hubcap. | 2011-03-14 20:20
Weasel1984 ![]() | Thank you! Shame, I didn't notice before this subtle difference. Something tells me such division does not exist in Polish (at least in colloquial language). |

atom ![]() | LHD = Left hand drive = Steering wheel on the left side in the driving direction. LHT = Left hand traffic = Cars forward driving direction is located on the left side of the road. |

Weasel1984 ![]() | LHD or RHD? I've never thought, I will have any doubts about that - how to call this. In UK they drive on the left side, but many people on our site call UK (and similar) spec cars - RHD. What's going on? Some alternative naming, which refers to steering wheel position? -- Last edit: 2011-03-14 14:35:22 |

dsl ![]() | Possibly an E-suffix plate so 1967. | 2011-03-14 13:10
JCB ![]() | Looks like an Albion Clydesdale , could also be a Leyland Beaver , but Leyland had prominent name badge and the Clydesdale very popular as skip truck and tipper, forward set cab and long doors rule out Dodge . LAD (Leyland Albion Dodge) cab variants:- Albions- all had long doors , forward set cab. Dodges- all had short doors centred over wheels. Leyland ;- Comet had short doors Beaver and Octopus (8 wheeler) had long doors. I think ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-03-14 14:30:08 |

ingo ![]() | The size of the plates is too big, otherwise shape and the surrounding edge are DDR-ish (empty plates had cost 2,05 DDR-Mark there). | 2011-03-14 00:41
ingo ![]() | Not to forget the windows of the building in the background, which are hinged ones in the German pre-1920-style. In Britain upwards-sliding windows were usual. Is the town identifyable? At first I thought about Gdansk/Danzig, due the stairs in front. But there they are lower and the typical element of the little veranda is missing. |

Gag Halfrunt ![]() | The telephone box is an obvious fake, as is the street name sign. "st" should be "St" and British street name signs are in upper case anyway. | 2011-03-14 00:17

dsl ![]() | 1967+ Hillman Minx [Arrow] on left at kerb. | 2011-03-13 22:27
dsl ![]() | Could be 1968+ 3.5 litre [P5b] but something not right, so I think is 3-litre [P5] with accessory spotlights. Low roof suggests coupe. | 2011-03-13 22:25
dsl ![]() | 1970+ Mini 850 [ADO20]?? Badges removed, but looks wind-up windows. Export white front indicators. | 2011-03-13 22:17
dsl ![]() | JGY xxxK plates issued Aug 71. | 2011-03-13 22:11
dsl ![]() | Clip-on hood = 61+ Mk1 or 64+ Mk2. Mk2 had winding windows and quarterlights - so despite damage here - I think Mk1. | 2011-03-13 21:53
johnfromstaffs ![]() | L plate = 1st August 1972 to 31 July 1973. | 2011-03-13 21:31
dsl ![]() | Oops - agree this is 15/60 as has over-riders more central than 16/60. | 2011-03-13 21:29
johnfromstaffs ![]() | Velocette LE "Noddy Bike", I think. | 2011-03-13 21:27
dsl ![]() | Over-rider positions were moved outwards on 16/60 as here. | 2011-03-13 21:27
johnfromstaffs ![]() | The 1958 Wolseley ADO 9 press car, registered 32 DJO, also had horizontal bars in the side grilles. This could therefore be a 15/60. | 2011-03-13 21:26
johnfromstaffs ![]() | There is nothing to say that this is not an ADO 9, Wolseley 15/60 the first Farina 1500 introduced in December 1958. | 2011-03-13 21:22
130rapid ![]() | Austin Seven Van, if 1960. | 2011-03-13 21:21
dsl ![]() | I can't answer that one beyond the comment I left in the linked entry - it's open until further info discovered. | 2011-03-13 21:20
johnfromstaffs ![]() | The cab shown was fitted to three makes of truck, Leyland, Albion and Dodge, and was known as the LAD cab at the manufacturers. There were minor variations, the Dodge having chequered grilles inside the openings. Because of the blurring and the minor disguise in the picture it is not possible to say Leyland or Albion. | 2011-03-13 21:17
dsl ![]() | [ADO15]. Possibly early Austin for the dull green colour. | 2011-03-13 21:15
dsl ![]() | Boot badge and number plate light make me think 1970+ (so ADO20) higher level version such as Clubman (but I think front wing would be different; does not have 1275GT side stripes). That leaves Mini (as make) Cooper S Mk3 - very rare so would be nice find if confirmed. (emphasis on if, as I'm not totally convinced). Rethink: nothing actually says Cooper S and no over-riders or 2nd filler. Rear badge seems long as if containing a word, so plain Clubman seems probable, maybe slightly upgraded (reversers, possible tints). -- Last edit: 2020-03-16 16:50:59 |
2011-03-13 21:13 | ||
johnfromstaffs ![]() | There is no evidence in these photographs to say that the car is a 2.4 It has a Mk 2 radiator grille, and is fitted with 3.4 cutaway spats as just visible in the main picture, the 2.4 grille has fewer slats, and the spats on a 2.4 cover the entire wheel. In view of this I would suggest that "Jaguar Mk 1" is as far as we can reasonably go upon the evidence shown. |
2011-03-13 21:12 | ||
130rapid ![]() | I'd say 1958-1964. | 2011-03-13 21:08
Weasel1984 ![]() | Or: /vehicle_378439-Hillman-Imp-1963.html But maybe they changed ot Sunbeam too. Maybe mentioned list wasn't very exact and used name from the previous years. |
2011-03-13 21:05 | ||
dsl ![]() | Looks like 1968+ Mk2 Austin Mini Cooper (but not S). But I'm not going to argue this too hard. -- Last edit: 2011-09-18 15:42:32 |
