night cub ![]() | T-birds don't have the round opera window, that was a feature of the Mark IV. The design of the front turn signal was also of the Lincoln and not the T-bird. | 2021-05-31 05:04
Tiresmoke722 ![]() | You sure that's not a 72-76 T-Bird? -- Last edit: 2021-05-31 04:27:04 |

eLMeR ![]() | Main pic is 00:09:22 Not a 1947-55 Advance-Design pickup, but a 1941-47 "Art Deco" one. There were only 2 possibilities for pickups in that truck line: 115" wheelbase ½-ton payload model or 125.25" wb ¾-ton pl one. So, depending on the model year, and if "½-ton" model, this one could be an AK (1941), BK (1942 & 1945-46) or CK (1947) truck. If a "¾-ton" pickup, then AL (1941), BL (1942 & 1945-46) or CL (1947) truck. In addition to the longer wheelbase (which is not obvious to see sometimes), and like its successor the Advance-Design 3600 pickup, the ¾-ton xL model had a bed reinforcement bar in front of the rear fender. That bar is not present on the ½-ton pickup and on the one of this page: ![]() (00:09:22) So it can't be nothing else than a ½-ton pickup. But the MY is still vague, as the differences seem hard to tell. ⇒ 1941 Chevrolet AK? Or, if sure of the 1947 MY (but please, share information ):⇒ 1947 Chevrolet CK? |

JasonMac ![]() | 100% POSITIVE, this is a CASE 580C. It definitely isn't a 580D. I know all of the case backhoes like the back of my hand. The 580D Open (non-cab version) didn't have the swing out battery box located on the top right side of the fender. The D and E series had the Battery box located on the left side foot step. | 2010-10-01 05:14

IHateFreedom ![]() | I think the closest car to camera (with front end partially obscured) is a Lincoln. I think the blue pickup pulling away is a Mazda. |

Gag Halfrunt ![]() | On the main movie page there's a comment from someone who used to own this particular car. | 2008-08-06 23:15
Q-Ball ![]() | well, thats after the audiences loved it. Someone once said that in the 80's they would often film on-location. But, hey, times have changed, and that picture and backround was standard, and most of the audience could not tel the difference between hawaii and okinawa |

jettalover ![]() | After the sucess of the first movie, there is no way this was a low budget film. | 2008-06-26 05:03

wayne ![]() | This Silvia was sold new in Hawaii in Silvia gold ( the only colour sold to the public ) It was the only one sold there and is right hand drive painted white for the movie. It is now silver and lives in San Francisco.I have a gold one vin no csp 311 70275. I bought it in Sydney Australia in 1990.I recently drove 3000 kilometers in it to Queensland and back with no problems. | 2007-10-26 02:35
carobserver ![]() | The Silvia of that generation is so smaller, and this example wears so big tires | 2007-06-24 01:58
Ddey65 ![]() | It also looks like it was made anywhere between 1973 and 1979. |
2007-02-21 04:34 | ||
pontiac52 ![]() | It's a 1947 or 1948 Ford Convertible. It's not a 1946. The parklights for the 1946 Ford and Mercury were both above the grille between the headlights and the lower end of the front of the hood. -- Last edit: 2007-01-07 16:05:44 |

Bellett64 ![]() | I can't believe they sourced one of these for the film. These are a rare car even in Japan (plus there were 49 exported to Australia - the Silvia's only export market)!! Perhaps they were less rare in 1986 when the flick was made... |

Celluloid ![]() | Or a 1947 Ford convertible ... On this source, several similar 1946 and 1947 "Ford convertible", "Ford deluxe convertible", "Ford Super Deluxe Convertible" : http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Ford/ => check the red "1947 Ford Convertible" left of a 1947 "Ford woody" ( and just, above, the two kind of bumpers/headlights for two red "1946 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible" => there's obviously a mistake ...) Well it's actually not Biff's 1946 Ford in Back to the Future ( different headlights ) : /vehicle_2126-Ford-1946.html -- Last edit: 2006-04-26 07:33:05 |
