night cub ![]() | That one is actually a 1976 model. It was incorrectly ID'd. The 1976 model has 3 vertical dividers per side, like this: The 1977 has 7 per side: In Karoomay's first thumbnail, the dividers are hard to make out. The 2nd thumbnail looks like it has more than 3 dividers per side. |

Neptune ![]() | It has (or had) permanent four-wheel drive. For the beach scene it should have been in High Loc mode with the center differential locked. As recommended for driving in sand terrain. However a professional stunt/off road driver could probably drive the 2.3 ton four-by-four through sand in just High mode with the center differential unlocked. The rear differential lock (if equipped) would keep torque from being misused by the rear wheels should one start slipping (spinning) and also help guard against torque reduction at the front wheels. The one used for the jump may have been a prepped stand-in. Either way, it had a aftermarket antenna as the Blazer did not have a factory audio system (which was optional at that time). If it had a factory installed audio system, there would a hidden antennae imbedded into the laminated windshield. Dual aerial lines were used and ran up the center of the windshield and parted ways (one left and one right) near the top. |
