Real plate though. Carjam says 1977. Experts can determine if plate check is accurate.

MisterZ AUThis is not a [VB] since the VB had "Commodore" badging on the front fender, which this one lacks. With regards to the above comment, what would make it 1983 specifically? The VH came out in 1981.

MisterZ AUModel origin is Australia, not Germany. This is not a [VH] but a 1980 [VC] due to the older-style tail-lights (with black strip through the middle).

This one here should also have the origin changed to Australia: /vehicle_749057-Holden-Commodore-VB-1978.html

nzmax NZNZ assembled 1900cc 4 cylinder (6 cylinder had different hubcaps), SLX trim. 2015-04-03 13:45
nzmax NZThe distance the indicators come round the corner at the front would suggest it was a VH Commodore SL from around 1983. Looks to be a NZ assembled 1900cc 4cylinder with the small round wheel centres, 6cylinders Commodores had cutouts for the wheel nuts. 2015-01-14 10:57

MisterZ AUWhy 1979?? HZ came out in 1977. In any case, this is a very old police car to still be in use in 1985. In Australia, all police cars were either Falcons or Commodores by this stage.

MisterZ AUIn Australia, this generation Civic was never offered as a sedan. We didn't get Civic sedans until 1984.

nzcarnerd NZ1985 was just before we began to see second hand imports so almost all of the cars seen will be NZ new and NZ assembled. The Mazda coupe is an example of the sort of car which was only available on special order and likely had not very many 'extras'. 2014-08-29 03:46
nzcarnerd NZYes, definitely Corolla. The Tercel was not sold here, though a small number of later ones have appeared as second hand imports. 2014-08-29 03:44
nzcarnerd NZYes I think at this time probably NZ assembled. 2014-08-29 03:43
nzcarnerd NZHave to check but I think this was a 121 Coupe here in NZ. Some info here suggesting 1976 as first date - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/cars/mazda/auction-602345912.htm

dsl SXYes - 121 Coupé, plus the 1978+ 121 L notchback version

For Aus
valiant1962 wrote This is an Australian movie ... I had a '76 121 fastback coupe many years ago. The 121L came out in 1978. The L stood for Landau but Ford already had a luxury coupe called the Landau which finished in 1976 so Mazda just called them the 121L. We also got the RX5 fastback version with the rotary engine

electra225 ITYes, the picture is not very good and I failed thinking about e Tercel. It looked to me a bit too narrow to be a Corolla but 929V6 is probably right. 2014-08-28 19:14
929V6 NLSavanna is the JDM name for the RX-3 and RX-7. This is rather a Cosmo (sold in NZ?) or RX-5 (which would be a first on the site).
