Ans  | I would like to point out that while it is indeed a Datsun 220C (430), (my grandy used to drive one as a taxi in HK back in the day, but it was a 1973 220C (230) and not this newer one). According to this website: http://1005.idv.hk/index.php?page=13&prefix=CR , CR-2707 was first registered 09-09-1981. So this taxi, being CR-2709, is a 1981 model, instead of a 1979. It fits as these were made between 1979-83. So it is actually a 1981 Datsun 220C (430). |

buhin  | This is known as Datsun 220C in Hong Kong. Model code is 430. 220C refers to 2.2L Diesel engine (SD22). 280C refers to 2.8L six cylinder gasoline engine. No one will use 280C for taxi, since the running cost was too high ! Almost all taxis at that time were Datsun 220C in Hong Kong. |
