Sunbar ![]() | 1974 as our earlist appearance of the turn-signal lolly-pop lights (other 1973 and 1974 FGs seen with the earlier lights). | 2020-11-29 19:10
Sunbar ![]() | Yes, after seeing the turn-signal lights, the Leyland lolly-pops could be late 1970s? https://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p381504504/h3c3330a2#h3be54675 https://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p381504504/h6d116e6d#h36349f6a https://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p381504504/h3c3330a2#h3c3330a2 |

mp775 ![]() | Definitely not 1975 since WMATA didn't have any New looks newer than 1973. I can't tell the width from the photo, but if it's 96 inches it's either a 1971 T6H5306A or a 1973 T8H5308A, and if it's 102 inches it's a 1968 T6H5305A or a 1972 T8H5307A. | 2019-10-28 20:25

marklandynut ![]() | The front fill tank as seen here was fitted to 4 cylinder Series 2, 2A and early Series 3 models up to 1974. From then all 199" models got the rear fill tank previously only found on the station wagon and 6 cylinder models. Unfortunately there's nothing I can see clearly enough on this one to give its age, although the door hinges do look like Series 2/2A hinges. | 2010-05-22 00:20

CougarTim ![]() | The building in the center of the picture is Garfinckel's department store at 14th and F Streets in downtown Washington, DC. The company went into bankruptcy and closed down in 1990. The building was later added to the National Register of Historic Places and currently serves as an office building and shopping center. The building on the left is the Willard Hotel, built in 1901. It closed in 1968 and didn't reopen until 1986, after a major renovation. So as far as I can tell, the building was vacant when this was filmed in 1984. Of course, I'm too young to remember any of this. I only found this out because there was a picture of Garfinckel's in the newspaper today and I recognized it from this movie, so I looked the information up online. ![]() |

SteveA ![]() | I think the second is a MCW Metrobus as well - look at the front windscreen. However, it's a single door version. The Metrobus in the main picture has dual doors. | 2008-08-19 21:12
SteveA ![]() | ...but the Fleetline on driver training duty is rarer. I'm trying to make out whether that's a TGX-M registration (Daimler Fleetline) or a THX_S registration (Leyland B20 Fleetline) -- Last edit: 2008-08-19 21:38:38 |
