Sunbar ![]() | Looking at all the details and comparing them with the truck here and in andrepa's link, all the correct bonnet cab and front end are present and I think it is less likely to be a 'made fror movie' replica. The 'Allo 'Allo truck is in a private collection http://www.historyonwheels.co.uk/ in Windsor. |

Sunbar ![]() | Probably also here earlier in 1982, but I suspect it could be 'made for movie' for a 1970s production set in WWII? | 2021-08-05 16:27
Sunbar ![]() | It is Left hand drive I don't recognise the cab or wheels as being British. |

Sunbar ![]() | Six years later... 4) From the DVD set, the van confirmed as the same as in Poirot. For future reference. Registration looks to be 'BD 57 99' (or less likely 'BO 57 99') which if UK would be before 1924... -- Last edit: 2021-11-23 16:19:37 |

DidierF ![]() | Flat fenders mean 1940+ for a Type 23, according to L'Automobile sous l'uniforme (1939-1940). | 2015-10-19 00:43
Sunbar ![]() | Well.... my rather poor memory tells me I did see it on a re-run at the time but without any recording of the episode. 1) I instantly connected it with the Poirot van which I had been searching for. 2) I believe it was a night-time scene so not well visible. 3) I hoped it would be re-run, and some of the series is being shown currently, so fingers crossed, I will get it - I don't plan to get the boxed DVD set! -- Last edit: 2015-04-11 12:37:08 |

antp ![]() | Good question Either Sunbar added the page without having the pic (e.g. when seeing it on TV), or the pic was lost somehow (but as I do not have a trace of it in the backup, this must have happened quicky after it was online, and I wonder how) |

Sunbar ![]() | Very similar to 1918 Unic M10 but slightly later probably early 1920s http://camionclubdefrance.a.free.fr/unic_m10.php?lang=en Almost certainly the Poirot van /vehicle.php?id=137471#Comment1557691 It was used as a hearse or funeral car but seen mainly from the rear and at night. Supporting the idea its a Unic. |

dsl ![]() | Richard Parrott is a Norfolk farmer with a passion for traction engines, and runs the Weeting Steam rally on his own land. The name plate here does not seem to be an engine name, but that it comes from the Richars Parrott Collection which has several Burrells (unknown if other makes as well, but Burrells were local build in Thetford, Norfolk, so may be Burrells only??). http://www.flickr.com/photos/steeveegee/196367853/ (caption info rather than the exact engine for ID), http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Charles_Burrell_and_Sons (para at bottom of page). DynaMike ![]() | Circa 41000 DMA has been produced between 1941 and 1950. Since 1948 it got the new 203 engine and was called Q3A. | 2007-07-30 13:24
DynaMike ![]() | I think this truck is based on a 1929 Citroën AC6 with a long wheel base. The general shape, and especially that of the front fender makes it a Citroën of the (A)C4/6 series (1929+); the length of the bonnet tells it a 6-cylinder; from 1930 onwards the louvres on the bonnet of the C6 continued upto the front. I wonder if it was made as a truck or if it would be a cenversion of a sedan. The wheels look like those of a truck (but they could easily have been changed), but the running board is cut off a bit too far to the back. | 2007-07-30 13:12
DynaMike ![]() | Though the rear of te car isn't visible, I think it's the smaller 'Traction'. These wheels (roues Pilote) were used since January 1938, so it will be (most probably) a 1938-1940 11 BL (Berline Légère). | 2007-07-30 12:57 |
