Weasel1984 PL^ By the lack of crease next to the rear fender (the fender itself also looks suspicious) and rounded top of the rear of body (above the wheel), Melex can be IMO excluded. 2020-02-17 16:43
bs27v1b USIt's a 1970 barracuda, you can tell by the script on the dash pad, far right. They went to a retangular box for the script in 1971. Not a correct mirror for a barracuda. 2015-04-16 16:15

Sunbar UKMorris Minor 1000 from MY1957 by the single-piece windscreen, smaller sidelights before MY1964.

At some time the bonnet has been replaced with one from a van or pick-up as there are no side mouldings in the pressing.

I put that in to indicate it was the 'European' Ford Granada and not the US car of the same name since this is a US made film...

hiergehts CHI think carnerd is right, it's a 1970-74 Plymouth Barracuda : http://www.fastcoolcars.com/images/chrysler/73cudaside1.jpg I never noticed that difference in the upper rear sidewindow trim before. Good catch.. 2007-04-06 22:30

nzcarnerd NZI presume not a Fleetwood 75 but a stretched sedan de ville. 2007-04-06 22:07
car nerd USI think it's a 70-74 Barracuda. The Challenger had a rounded rear window opening where the roof meet the wintow whereas the Barracuda's rear window meet the roofline at more of a sharp point. You can exspecially see that difference in the link submitted by hiergehts

Firebird86 wrote It could even be a basic Parisienne.

The '78 Parisienne didn't have that grille (it was the equivalent of the US Bonneville that year).

The '78 Pontiac Laurentian and Catalina did have the same grille but since this was filmed in California, there are good chances that it's a Catalina.

BTW, the Catalina was also available here in the seventies but the even cheaper Laurentian wasn't available in the States.

nzcarnerd NZLate-'50s Chev? There are all sorts of interesting things in that pic. The white convertible in the front looks like a Hillman Minx. The blue car with the white roof on the left looks like a late-'60s Toyota Corona coupe. In the foreground looks like our blue Corona again, behind that a '54? Buick, a Volvo? with the white fender, an International Scout? convertible on the right, maybe a '60s Cadillac behind the pickup and no doubt many more!
