johnfromstaffs ![]() | I can't understand this comment. The best part of the Lancia and the Alfa Romeo will always be the engine. I have owned two Fulvias and a 1.6 Spider Sport, as it got called here, the Fulvias particularly having the twin cam V-4 which was as smooth as any engine I have sat behind, even my Bentley. Maybe it was a little more difficult to keep two twin choke Weber carburettors in tune, but they were both lovely engines which made a great noise. |

AleX_DJ ![]() | We had also a Lybra 1.6, and the problem was with the engine indeed, in particular it had an incredibly high oil consumption. For what I know of the other cars, the Uno had problems with fuel injection, the Cinquecento had a large variety of problems (but it was at least a 3rd-hand used car), the Panda had petrol losses, and the Lancia Y had a terrible roadhold. My grandpa was an enthusiast of Italian cars, but he always said that when he test-drove a MK2 Delta when he was replacing his Audi (his first non-Italian car) he was disappointed by loud mechanical noises during the test. -- Last edit: 2015-01-17 16:07:57 |

Nothing compared with the Uno, that, in Italy was not an ISTANT success as Fiat was really wondered in March 1983 for the not fantasting start in January and February. Anyway, since March 1983 the immatricolations soared. electra225 ![]() | Italian makes didn't consider model years but series and "maquillages" inside the series. I would consider this a late 1980. The same happened with US built Chrysler products for 1949. Untill March you had the same vehicles as in 1948 and after the brand new "true" 1949 models. Do you name 1949 those ones with the same aspects of 1948? I would shift to 1980 for this car. The plate doesn't mean anything. Are you sure it was not built in early 1980 and waited a lot of time in the dealer park sites ? |
