Bux_48 ![]() | So this one should be [138AS] as motor code being a 1500, but [128AS] as chassis code as by VIN ![]() |

johnfromstaffs ![]() | No expert, believe me! I like to stick with identification of cars from what they look like, in any case preferring to look at the past rather than modern times. I may not be able to tell if a car is trimmed in reversible wren’s egg nutsack with inspissated gussets, (W Heath-Robinson, “How to be a Motorist”), but I usually go for cars that I have a fighting chance of recognising. Bux_48 ![]() | Interesting information, dsl anyway this one, being a 1980 and 5 speed, is a 1500 indeed. If a late 1980 sequential number, that would explain why already has a 1981+ VIN ![]() |

dsl ![]() | Looks like a 1.5 to me - bumper, higher engine cover. Glass's list codes for UK as 128AS (1300, properly available here from Jan 77 from chassis 00056000 after confused arrival of a few earlier ones) and 128AS1 (1500, Oct 78 onwards from chassis 00098171). Jan 80 chassis - 00121194, Jan 81 - 00136310, so 00134200 seems late 80. |

Bux_48 ![]() | But, being a 1980 can't be a 1.3, indeed this should be a 1.5.. I think this is a borderline case: as I said here /vehicle.php?id=1463884, on pre-VIN Italian cars (I believe also the others) there were two numbers, the chassis code and the engine code. I see that on older ones we use the engine code to split different motors or versions. I know this one has a VIN (even if it's not a 1981), but I believe for the ones at the turn of the change from chassis number to the VIN would be better to use the previous way? Because, currently also early ones are mostly listed as [138AS] even if according to the source I linked would be wrong at least for first series 1.3 ones whether we consider the chassis code or the engine code. Hope I've explained myself.. What do the others think? @electra225 @AleX_DJ @130rapid -- Last edit: 2021-03-15 17:05:30 |

johnfromstaffs ![]() | DOW was a County Borough of Southampton series that commenced in April and finished in September of 1946. The font is not English style, and probably doesn’t match the car anyway. |

Bux_48 ![]() | According to this: http://www.x1-9.it/motorizzazioni10.htm [128AS] was for the 1.3, [138AS] for the 1.5, [138BS] for US specs catalyzed ones ![]() |

zodiac ![]() | As far as I understand, the coach is a 1975-80 bk 7 http://bussidata.kuvat.fi/kuvat/0+Korit/Wiima/ (this link tend not to work, otherwise type "bussidata" and Wiima" in any search engine) or http://www.kooen202.com/12 . I believe bk stands for type or series. There were an additional M number telling what kind of market it was intended for. M 100 for city bus, M 200 and M 300 for commuting and M 400 for tourist coach. This is likely a M 200 or M 300. This is more likely to be built on a Volvo chassis than any other make, because the Volvo sign was rather insignificant at the time Link to "asiakas.kotisivukone.com" while other brands, like Scania, were more clearly written http://fotobus.msk.ru/photo/04/44/11/444114.jpg . |

ingo ![]() | P.S. With my comment I mean the behaviour of Silja Lines, not the ship. I know it as "Queen of Scandinavia". We have used it two or three times for some of our SCO-trips. I think, in the "Queen of Scandinavia" (at the entry of the restaurant) was the model or an older DFDS-ferry - loaded with mid-60ies WIKING-cars IIRC the ship-model with the Matchbox-cars (I've shown you the photos in the forum) was placed in the "Prince of Scandinavia" -- Last edit: 2016-03-07 00:20:39 |

In this case, the correct ratio seems to be 1.67:1 (The caps are currently at 2:12:1) You can resize them here by clicking the "Automatic resize" button, and then adding 1.67 under "Recompress/Resize" on the first line. | 2016-03-05 22:33 | ||
