ingo DEWhere was this scene shot? The other cars are US-versions with badly faked French plates. 2009-08-14 18:54
Weasel1984 PLThere wasn't US version of it. It is 1977 Fiat 126 or 1978 PF 126p individually imported. I read once that for some resons the car became more popular last time among US collectors (:??:). 2009-08-14 15:38

r2muddyd2 NLThanks for the fixup! 2009-07-20 18:14
R2muddyd2 NLActually it isn't a 1964, but a 1965 model (March 26th, to be precise). Wanna know what happened to it? See: http://vw65westy.blogspot.com
And by the way, it IS an original Westfalia SO-42.

Greetings, Lex

fsebus FRLes Bus Rouges:

Volvo B10M avec caisse East Lancs (existent en jaune pour Open Tour, couverts et 1/2 découverts, et en Néoplan DD)

Bref, un bus tout à fait contemporain de la SM et autres DS et des parcmètres !

Tauruz SEThe golden car is a Citroën SM manufactured from 1970-75

The red one behind it is a Citroen DS late 50th -57 perhaps?

DynaMike NLYou're right Gag Halfrunt. Indeed US-spec rear indicators and quad round taillights. 2009-07-02 11:58
Gag Halfrunt UKAnd I think the thumbnails show both cars. The fourth one in particular looks more like Boston than Paris. 2009-07-02 11:22
DynaMike NLThese are clearly two different cars: indicators under the bumper, headlights with no glass in front of it. I even suspect this to be a DS model rather than an ID (by the grey windscreen rubber), but not easy to be sure. The other is an ID 19 though, no doubt: /vehicle_207812-Citroen-ID-19-1969.html 2009-07-02 11:07

DynaMike wrote The interior of the headlights should have been light beige, not painted in the body colour...

When I wrote this there was a different main pic (now second thumbnail). I was very surprised by this strange colour, but now I've seen there was also a US-double I understand why... ( /vehicle_223073-Citroen-ID-19.html )

ingo DEIt's an US-scene for sure. The houses in the background are in US-style (Art Deco I think). And in France they wouldn't hang their flag in that wrong way like shown above. :D

By the way, a propos French flag: last weekend there was again the "Original Hollandse Kaas-Koning" ("original Dutch cheese king") on our local market, a Dutch guy with a Dutch trailer selling Dutch cheese. But I have no idea, why all 8 flags, hanging around his trailer were French ones. :??:

I know this scene was filmed in the US (see comments on Mercedes ML page), but is this model even sold in Europe?

ford_guy USI'm pretty sure this scene was filmed in the US. There is such a thing as prop plates. 2009-07-01 03:46
rjluna2 USI think this is European version due to the license plate.

2005/06.

DynaMike NLThanks, Adrián. Yes, now it is clearly visible. One can even see the rubber on the overriders and the extra reflectors on the grilles (since the original reflectors would have disappeared behind the extra bumper bar). 2009-07-01 00:54

antp wrote Even if different, they are still very similar. Since they are supposed to be the same car, I do not see the point of listing them separarely...

Because in the same way that we list other similar cars separately when they're from different years we should list this too... and even more in this case since they're both used and quite different to say the least, the newer model is thicker...
