MisterZ ![]() | Late 2001+ due to "4800 Twincam 24 valve" badge on front door. The 4.8L engine replaced the 4.5L in October 2001 ("GU" series III). At the time it was introduced, it was the most powerful naturally-aspirated 6-cylinder engine sold in Australia, with 185 kW (248hp), enough for the Patrol to do 0-100 (0-62 mph) in 10.5 seconds (down from the 13.1 seconds of it's predecessor). Due to the extra power, the maximum speedometer speed was increased from 200 to 220 km/h. |

Sandie ![]() | Bumper looks fake, the bumpers fitted to the taxis had over riders missing here. Interesting that the car in Kegare's link shows the same non-standard wheel trims and bumper. B92XJD is a cab exported in 1997, I think the plate is genuine so listing as 1984 Carbodies FX4R. |

Sunbar ![]() | Almost the same but there are differences between the taxis... Movie car has wing mounted mirrors both sides whereas the auction car has driver's side door mirror by the A pillar, plus single wing mirror on other side and radio aerial not seen. -- Last edit: 2014-01-03 12:38:48 |

dsl ![]() | Is the grille normal? Gap to bonnet edge looks odd? | 2014-01-02 23:26
Lateef ![]() | Maybe the plate came with the taxi as it was shipped over, as it looks real enough. | 2014-01-02 23:14
Gag Halfrunt ![]() | @Lateef: Since this is a fake British scene filmed in Australia, the number plate could just be a prop. It's not mounted in the usual position, which makes me suspicious. ![]() |
