dsl SXUpdate - we got this gen 260C as estate in April 76 after previous 260 [220] saloon and estate stopped in Dec 75. However 260C saloon [330] did not arrive until March 77, and only lasted until Aug 77, when both discontinued ahead of 280C upgrade from Dec 77 which lasted until March 80. Therefore likely this is 280C. 2021-02-11 22:58
dsl SXBody colour sills so early one Sept 74 to Oct 75, after which they got black plastic covers. 1750 only came in Dec 79 for last year until Dec 80 and was automatic only. 2021-01-26 04:08

The hightop window may have been an option or a later feature. Bariban were a UK company from Devon: http://thecampervana.com/my-love-affair-with-elvis-palomino/

dsl SXThe only reference I can find for one of these campers being sold in UK is Glass's listing (1985 monthly price guide) for the Bariban Ultra Autobahn 4-berth based on M-B L206D (1974-77, 2197cc) and L207D (1978-80ish, 2404cc). I don't remember the the name, but it googles a few hits for examples in UK. We never had anything based on Hanomag/Hanomag-Henschel, which were not sold here in ordinary van form either.

Doesn't look as if there's a main door on this visible side, so I guess this is RHD UK example rather than foreign visitor.

dsl SX^ oops - I missed a line - the 600 was announced for UK in Nov 67 with Hondamatic option, but nothing actually arrived before June 68. Unclear from the Glass's info if Hondamatic was offered before Aug 70, but it may well have been. 2020-02-26 20:38
Weasel1984 PL^Will be good for reference.
Interesitng - despite the mentioned dates in at least two British brochures so called "G"-type trim and "Hondamatic" are next to each other (cars in one of them had 1968-1969 reg. plates)
2020-02-26 20:19
dsl SXJune 68 - 600 Saloon N arrived.
Oct 68 - 600 Saloon G arrived - as N plus "metallic paint, rev counter, pile carpets, and bright metal waistline strip"
April 70 - N discontinued
July 70 - G discontinued
Aug 70 - Saloon Touring and Saloon Hondamatic arrived - "as previous G Saloon, with matt black facia"
Jan 72 - new "rubber diaphragm carburettor"
Dec 72 - Hondamatic discontinued
March 74 - Touring discontinued

Also for completion while I've got the book open:
Jan 68 N360 arrived - no changes listed until discontinued July 70
April 72 Z600 Coupe arrived - no changes listed until discontinued March 74
2020-02-26 20:05
Weasel1984 PLThere is some blob in place where the "Touring" badge used to be. Version, which, judging by the period sale materials, could be to get in UK since 1971...
I guess the badge was "Touring" till the end, but curiously since ca 1972 British brochures started to use "Tourer" name.

dsl SXRHD pics might be very rare, especially if they left factory in LHD and were converted in destination country (UK, ZA, Aus, NZ etc which often had officially approved conversions by specialists - not just a bloke in a lock-up garage - although numbers would have been very low). 2015-10-21 02:19

Yes, a "Kußmaul" ("kiss puss"). But a Camper, not a Van.
 If it's a UK vehicle, was there a British Camper-coachbuilder? It's not a Westfalia-conversion (if I'm not wrong and there were more Westfalia-version) as this example:

Arriva, the world's crappiest bus company, has changed all the routes round here to save money, and the drivers don't know where to go. The driver of the bus going in the opposite direction told my friend who gets on a couple of stops before me, that he had seen our bus on the wrong route, so it would not be taking us into town, so that's it.

Hey, come on - this isn't a real serious reason to miss important things like that [:heink] There are more possibilities, for example a loving wife, who would stay awake until the husband's call "Darling, we are ready now, you can pick us up"
