Pokeoddsponge a écrit The lack of a fixed rear window on the Wayne body makes this a 1975 at the earliest, as 1973-74 re-used the old style glass panel on the last window from the 1967-1972 model Wayne school bus. Also, on the inside the "cage" area for the prisoners can be seen utilizing the pre-existing two "bars" that go to the ceiling on the bus. These were outlawed on school buses by the US government in 1977, so 1975-76 is the only years this could be.

The front, which is how we ID chassis cabs, is off a 1967-1972 model.

The bus body was clearly added to an older chassis. The cab is from 1967-1972 but has side markers so at the earlier a 1968.

Centauress USThat's a 1968 Ranger. The grill is slightly different, the '69 didn't have the vertical black lines. It has Western mirrors, not Camper Special mirrors. Could be an F-100, but I'm betting it's an F-250. The F-100 would be lower in back from the weight. 2019-05-23 02:25

fleetwood75All conventional school, prison and church buses on Chevy/GMC chassis still used the 1967-1972 medium-duty truck cowl even in '73 when Chevy & GMC redesigned their pickups & medium-duty trucks, This continued until 1983 and for '84 The '73 vintage Chevy/GMC medium-duty truck cowls were used. 2010-11-11 05:37

Skywatcher68 USI think this is a GT, just without the hood scoop typically associated with one. It has the same hood as this Ranchero GT: images.traderpub.net/img/10/dealer/1489005/64438708_1.jpg, could it be one of them?

Since this is not a unique rear windows and I can safely ruled out Impala Custom where the inscription is on the rear roof corner. Regular Impala inscription are usually at the front fender.

58Roadmaster a écrit Someone should post a topic in the "Useful Info" forum about GM platforms. What is a compact and what is a sub-compact? In the case of Oldsmobile the Cutlass Salon is smaller than the Omega. Respectively, Pontiac's equivalents were the LeMans and Phoenix, right?
http://www.fvn.no/amcar/brochures/olds/79olds/bilder/23.jpg
http://www.fvn.no/amcar/brochures/pontiac/78full.html

BTW: There were some cool T-tops made at that time!
http://www.fvn.no/amcar/brochures/olds/77ol/bilder/17.jpg

The platform types, if I can get this straight (not counting sports cars) are Full-size, Mid-size, Compact, Sub-compact.

What you were describing the class size on this vehicle is senior compact.

For the platform, it is GM [X (RWD)] platform.

As I discussed at http://forum.imcdb.org/forum_topic-3003-GM_Platform.html .

I'd say so too. But I looked on other views of it in other car pics, and I can't see the grille logo. It it a bowtie, or is it a Fleur-dy-Lys?
