dhill_cb7 ![]() | [D81W] indicates the AWD version and we cannot, unless I am missing a detail here, narrow the drivetrain from this vantage. Default code would be [D71W/D81W]. | 2022-02-25 19:35

Weasel1984 ![]() | Yes, this is what was explained above. Who knows, now maybe even the car is registered as "VW 1200", but as it was rebuilt they could not follow the "factory" naming. Or it was rebuilt in such way, that the whole body was replaced -- Last edit: 2018-11-01 00:18:04 |

Żeby nadać wygląd 1303 zwykłej "1200" trzeba by wymienić spory kawał nadwozia (albo i całe). | 2018-10-28 15:05

G-MANN ![]() | I just said it to give you an idea of the scale of European cars compared to American cars, but yes the Catera/Omega is small compared to a full-size American car like the Cadillac DeVille or Lincoln Town Car. But surely the Catera was big enough for the mid-size category? It's about the same size as a Ford Taurus and Chevrolet Lumina. But anyway American cars have always been on a different scale to European cars (especially during the 40s-70s), so it's understandable why you call them small. After I went to America recently and saw all the monstrously huge SUVs and pickups trucks over there, things like the Range Rover and Toyota Land Cruiser didn't seem that big anymore. But then we have less space and narrower roads, having big American SUVs over here would be ludicrous. But anyway, what did you like about the Catera (even though I don't think many people consider it a real Cadillac due to it's compactness)? -- Last edit: 2007-09-10 13:13:49 |

Neptune ![]() | Silly me, I didn’t know that when I declared a car’s size, I had to mention its size classification for other countries as well... The fact is the Catera was a small car when compared to other vehicles traversing American roads. Its replacement, the Cadillac CTS is slotted in the mid-size category (but it’s not even the biggest car in that class) If the Catera/Omega was considered a large car in Europe, then that’s quite alright with me. -- Last edit: 2007-09-09 19:25:36 |

G-MANN ![]() | Little car? You know by our standards the Omega is considered a reasonably large car. Not huge but still bigger than average, it's what we used to call an "Executive Car", which is a car that is bigger and a little more upmarket (or at least they were supposed to be) than a "Family Car" (Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Vectra, VW Passat etc). But the Catera wasn't a real Cadillac, was it? A Cadillac is a big, plush, wallowing barge of a car, the Catera is just a small (by US standards) European car. It's not hard to see why the Catera failed, they should have badged it as a Chevy or something. |
