garco NLPopular American car, I don't have any statistics... But in comparision with other American cars, this one was one of the most popular at that time I think. 2011-11-18 20:22
ingo DEWhat you mean with "quite popular"?. Is known, how many were sold?

The European cars back then weren't any better.

DynaMike NLHa, I've seen it but never really noticed.... Thanks!
Now, getting an answer to this question is something different :/

DynaMike NLFH plates were plates of "Fabrikanten en Handelaren" (constructors and dealers), so probably a brand new Daf, indeed, still owned by the factory. 2011-11-16 22:22
Weasel1984 PLThe interesting thing in these Transites are the rear reflectors. Some cars had them, some not (and then in their place were such silver plates, like here)... Like for now I couln't find from which it was dependent (not matter of market). It seems it was the same in both pre and post 1970 version. 2011-11-16 21:56
Weasel1984 PLOr maybe a brand new one (1980) - 305 badge is in fact not visible... 2011-11-16 21:52
Weasel1984 PLSo beautiful in its ugliness - really nice.
Nothing from the plate? I guess such badges configuation can makes it quite new one. On the other hand wether these plates were still in use around 1979/1980?

929V6 NLAn article in the Dutch car magazine Autokampioen of 1971 stated that due to its poor suspension, it drove like a truck... Few were sold in Europe. 2011-11-16 21:20

ingo DEThere were a plenty of articles about the Pinto in Europan magazines, when it was released in 1970, so about "The first non oversized US-made car" and so (I even have one car-magazine from the DDR with a brief report about the Pinto). But in reality the selling amount of it was small. Probably Belgium and Switzerland had been the biggest marekts over here. In West Germany the Pinto was one of the few US-cars, which had official price-listings (for example in the "autokatalog"), maybe even sales brochures have existed. I cannot remember, that I've ever seen one running here. 2011-11-16 10:30

Ddey65 USI wonder what the windows were added on for? But they were added on.
