BrentMosher420 USIf it's a GLC it'd have to be a brand new 1977 model (rather than a 1979), as this movie was mainly filmed in 1976. 2017-02-12 07:05

Skid wrote How many jet black 1971 'Cudas were there in the Los Angeles area at the time with those same custom fender flares?

Los Angeles? Wasn't this movie mainly filmed in Oakland?

BrentMosher420 USJust got my new DVD of the remastered version - It's as great as ever! Easily one of my top 5 horror movies, alongside Halloween (1978), The Exorcist (1974), The Thing (1982), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974 - tied with The Thing), and The Evil Dead trilogy (which I basically consider to be one big movie). 2017-02-12 06:58
Skid USApparently it later appeared in the background of a season 4 episode of CHiPs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJH16i4tDTE

Can't be proven that's the car, but I'd call the odds pretty good. How many jet black 1971 'Cudas were there in the Los Angeles area at the time with those same custom fender flares?

the gap between the hatch and the left panel would be more visible if it was a chevette:

the glc/323 the gap is on the side of the car so you don't see it.
another glc shot: /vehicle_87945-Mazda-GLC-1981.html
(this one's too new since the movie was in '79.)

mrcadillac SXProfessional car (funeral coach) on 1966 Cadillac commercial chassis (90% sure). The last image (where you see the hearse in flames) looks more like a 1970 model (90% sure)! Perhaps the film-makers used a wreck for the "fire" scene. 2007-04-18 12:32

No idea, but it is the same type of truck. 3112's were the 1/2 ton cowl, windshield & chassis trucks. I haven't got the foggiest idea how many truck body companies made ice cream vending bodies.

Skid USTechnically, it's not a Barracuda, it's a 'Cuda. Those were considered separate models from 1970 through 1974.

I also notice that it's a 440 Six Barrel. Quite a rare car, as only 237 hardtops and 17 convertibles were built with this engine for 1971.

This would be quite the collector's item today, as these consistently sell for six digit figures.
