62imperial ![]() | Examining it closer, now that the movie's on YT, the burning car has a much taller trunk lid and the belt line slopes downward. There's no "tulip panel" between the trunk and the top opening, and the top frame is a mockup with no hinges. I'm pretty sure the burning car was a junker '48 Sedanette fastback with the roof sawed off and a fake top frame added. Which is something of a relief. -- Last edit: 2023-05-11 10:01:37 |

Commander 57 ![]() | With the side nameplate, this is a '48 rather than a '47. Changing. |

Cko ![]() | In the shots of the car burning, it looks like its in rougher shape or they used a different car for the torching. It has older, weak paint and it certainly looks like a bit of rust along the bottom. |

Cko ![]() | It was just a 10 year old beater when it was filmed. Probably used for that reason. They likely got it cheap. |

tore-40 ![]() | Only around half the weight has to be lifted (much like a wheel barrel), the more you tilt the car the easier it gets. No engine would shave off several hundred pounds as well. | 2018-02-20 09:51
nick rynearson ![]() | How strong are these kids, because this car weighs 1740 kg / 3836 lbs. | 2018-02-19 23:41

CougarTim ![]() | Stapleton International Airport in Denver, Colorado, crossing Interstate 70. This airport was replaced by Denver International Airport in 1995. Stapleton International (and its runway overpasses) was demolished and the site redeveloped; the only portion of the old airport remaining is the old control tower. Texas International Airlines became defunct in 1982 when they merged with Continental. -- Last edit: 2017-09-03 20:44:55 |

shlc647 ![]() | It is sad that they would break it, but since it was only a few years old at the time of the film, I'd like to think that replacement parts would be pretty easy to find and it would be back on the road. | 2017-08-31 02:26
