mechatech CAI'm leaning towards 72. The level beltline all the way to the sail pillar. Grill is too high for 70. Lack of heavy bumper guards of a 73. Side trim runs along the rocker panel; pre 72 the side trim ran along an edge at the bottom of the vertical sides like here: http://automotivemileposts.com/lincoln/lincoln1971selections.shtml 2012-08-06 04:21

somename USNot a 78; fender skirts and lack of pinstripes would make it a 76 or 77 based on what we can see. Also there is no sign of a Town Car badge behind the wheel, so it's just a 1976 Lincoln Continental [53B]. 2011-10-18 04:11

I think it's a Buick Skylark from around 1971.

ingo DE:no: No 1973 Super Beetle. That one has elephant foot back lamps and a rounded front screen, this one not. It's not a Super Beetle at all, because it hasn't the higher front with the McPherson-axle. It's just a 1971 Sedan (1300 in Europe). 1971 due the banana vent in the C-pillar and the colour "silvermetallic". 2011-01-22 00:19

P.S. There was only one version with both indicators at the same time: http://www.toycar-shop.de/bilder/80/10001/800010575_2.jpg :D

That VW van is not worth listing, IMHO (not rare, seen through window far away). So let's list the so-rare Lincoln with that picture then...

an_unusual_eye wrote actually... the one that you have linked as a 1978 "introduces the 1977 Bonneville"... so we still don't know what the '78 looked like :)

I have been looking at that for many years trying to find out the difference between 1977 and 1978 Pontiac Catalina taillights and whatnot on the road :p

an_unusual_eye UScurious to know. the standard catalog is often wrong, and i frequently see ads listed by publication year rather than model year... so you could very well be right... those were just the 1st two examples i found. 2011-01-21 16:45

an_unusual_eye USi'm seeing this style beginning in '78 both in the only retro ad i found online, and in the (often mistaken) standard catalog of american cars... certainly doesn't mean you're not right... as you generally are. my personal knowledge of 60s pontiac is pretty fair, but by the late 70s... not good enough to know from memory. 2011-01-21 15:46
