cieraguy ![]() | for one year Pontiac badged it like that... I hate when car makers change the name before they change the design. | 2008-02-12 18:01
antp ![]() | We also have one listed as "2000 Sunbird", though that I am not sure that it is correct: /vehicle_52315-Pontiac-2000-Sunbird-1984.html | 2008-02-12 09:32
taxiguy ![]() | Isn't it J 2000? |
2008-02-12 01:53 | ||
drujon ![]() | It is in fact a '76 Sedan Deville, and a Deville d'Elegance to be exact. The only way you got a hood ornament on a Deville (from the factory) was with the d'Elegance package and it was the "see through" crest that became standard on Deville's in '77. You'll often see '75-'76 Deville's with a full wreath and crest hood ornament added, the giveaway that it's not OEM is the crest with the V mounted on the leading edge of the hood. -- Last edit: 2008-02-12 00:20:24 |

cieraguy ![]() | could also be a Sunbird... I'm not sure if that badge on the quarter panel says Sunbird or Pontiac. | 2008-02-11 17:57
cieraguy ![]() | I think these are the hardest generation to tell if its a grand or not. | 2008-02-11 17:55
cieraguy ![]() | wrecker or tow truck | 2008-02-11 17:54
jettalover ![]() | Definetly shot in S.F. That phone number on the Frontier's door has the S.F. area code. | 2008-02-11 05:55
Firebird86 ![]() | Its a '76 de Ville, My dad had a 1975 | 2008-02-11 05:29
Firebird86 ![]() | I agree, early to mid 60's Ford F-Series, comments? | 2008-02-11 05:25
mrcadillac ![]() | Definitely a 1976 Cadillac (grille design) and probably a "Sedan de Ville" (with that small, funny quarter window). | 2008-02-11 04:46
Ddey65 ![]() | Looks Ford-ish. |
2008-02-11 02:39 | ||
carchasesfanatic ![]() | Hmm | 2008-02-11 00:32
antp ![]() | "dépanneuse" in French, I do not know if there are precise therms for the various kind of these vehicles or if they are all called in the same way, but I'd say that this name is rather for those hauling the car; if the car is carried it is a "camion-plateau" I think. -- Last edit: 2008-02-11 00:24:23 |
2008-02-11 00:22 | ||
antp ![]() | Well, actually the movie consists in a trip from San Francisco (if I remember well) to Winnipeg. So I think that at least a part was actually filmed in USA, and that IMDB's locations list is incomplete. | 2008-02-11 00:20
carchasesfanatic ![]() | Yes but out of the site, coloquially how do you call these? | 2008-02-11 00:19
antp ![]() | Chassis-cab anyway. But for our categories, the chassis-cab is used for light ones and the towing truck for heavy ones (the latter category was made for vehicles like the one seen in Terminator II, or for trucks which carry the car rather than hauling it). |

ford_guy ![]() | 2004-2006 | 2008-02-11 00:15
carchasesfanatic ![]() | In french and in english do you consider trucks like these with platforms for cars on the rear in where the car has to be towed with a cable up to it as tow trucks? | 2008-02-11 00:15
ford_guy ![]() | That is actually a 2003-2006 Toyota Tundra. | 2008-02-11 00:13
antp ![]() | In the movie it is supposed to be US military | 2008-02-11 00:12
ford_guy ![]() | I'm willing to bet it's ex-US military. | 2008-02-11 00:11
antp ![]() | Yes, probably, with these orange lights and seeing the style of the rear, not really a pickup. |
