Betas was eventually firstly shown in November 1972 at the Turin show in its pre-series version (different grille from the production car), but entered in production in the late late spring in a slightly different range and new grille. Export begun in late summer and in 1974 one of the very first for the UK market ( a bright red 1800) was bought by Emerson Fittipaldi, who, at the time for some reason registered it in UK.
