jpts  | In the original case, Lufthansa Flight 181 (LH181) was enroute from Palma on the Island of Majorca to Frankfurt when it was hijacked, while the plane was in Yemen, the captain of LH181 and former Luftwaffe Lockheed F-104 Starfighter pilot, Jürgen Schumann was shot and killed by the hijack leader; Zohair Youssif Akache, leaving the co-pilot, Jürgen Vietor to fly the plane to Mogadishu. In response, the West German Government put together a rescue plan, Operation Feuerzauber and sent a 30 men team from the West German Police tactical police unit, GSG 9 der Bundespolizei (known as the GSG 9 or the Grenzschutzgruppe 9) to Mogadishu to rescue the passengers and remaining crew. On arrival, the GSG 9 were joined by two members of the British 22 Special Air Service to assist in the planning and logistics and members of the Somali Armed Forces who were providing support. | jpts | This scene was an reenactment of the death of RAF member; Petra Schelm who shot by the West German Police after driving through a police roadblock in Hamburg on the afternoon of the 15th July 1971. According to the West German Police report, Schelm and fellow RAF member; Werner Hoppe were driving through Hamburg in Schelm's BMW when they sped through a police roadblock, leading the police to give chase in which they forced the BMW off the road. After they abandoned the BMW, Schelm and Hoppe then split up and ran off in different directions, Hoppe was followed by a police helicopter and was cornered by the police and arrested, while Schelm was cornered by the police and pulled out a handgun and fired upon the police who then returned fire, hitting Schelm in the eye, killing her. According to the West German reports, Ohnesorg was attending a protest near the Deutsche Oper Berlin in opposition of the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's state visit to West Germany who was attending an performance of the Magic Flute by Mozart. After killing Schleyer's driver and the officers, the gunmen dragged Schleyer from the car and bundled him into a van and drove him across the German-Belgian Border to Brussels where he was kept until the West German Government release other members of the RAF who were imprisoned. On the 18th October 1977, the kidnappers heard that the imprisoned RAF members committed suicide, they took Schleyer from Brussels across the Belgian-French Border where enroute, the kidnappers shot and killed him.
