dsl SXDigging a bit deeper, because any metallic GT feels odd - I don't remember them happening. I've got 2 ADO16 bibles, with some contradictions - one says builds were split as above - Austin-badged at Longbridge, Morris-badged at Cowley builds, but the other says all GT builds were Cowley, replacing their builds of Riley 1300 when it ended June 69. The everything-at-Cowley book lists 11 colours eventually available on Austin, but only 6 of those 11 on Morris. Which contradicts the idea that Cowley couldn't offer them all.

But none of the 11 are metallics or silver, so this one - whatever its badges or date is a rare bird indeed.

dsl SXBoth have Sept 68+ (UK date) extra trim on rear panel. Main and 1st thumb body colour so probably Super. Thumb 2 with black fill probably GT or perhaps 1600E. 2023-02-07 17:21

All the other shots of this Landie were either so obstructed or so far away, that I might as well have posted my own doodle and called that the main pic...

dsl SXI think so. Launch colours were only Bronze Yellow, Flame Red and Glacier White for both Austin (Longbridge builds) and Morris (Cowley builds). Morrises apparently had a smaller colour choice after the Sept 70 additions as Cowley could not offer as many as Longbridge. 2023-02-06 23:47

dsl SXMalaysia built some S2a and S3 from some unknown date in 1960s (but starting before 1968; versions unknown) and hint of pre-68 S2a grille. I don't think wheel pattern changed during S2/S2a/S3, and I'm not going to try and guess the wheelbase ..... 2023-02-06 22:43
dsl SXI've got "Singapore/Malaysia (Mk2-5, possible Mk1 as well but info unclear)" here as a Cortina assembling country, 2023-02-06 22:29
dsl SXYes - local taxi. Looks UK Mk1 1.8, but very early Aus build is possible as film date is about when HK started getting Aus builds.

Or there's this snippet "Morris Marina 1.5-litre diesels were also staples of the taxi fleets in both Singapore and Malaysia, again being locally assembled (by Wearne Group subsidiary, AMI)." from ARonline, although not totally clear is this happened as early as 74. But worth entering to mark its existence.

dsl SXLater colour - the choice was widened in Sept 70 for last year of Mk2 and continued thru Mk3. Austin or Morris is coin toss, ditto late Mk2 or Mk3, but I'll go Austin Mk3. 2023-02-06 21:21

Set and filmed in Japan and Malaysia, but the only scenes that'd concern IMCDb was set/filmed in-and-around modern (at the time) Sandakan, Sabah; as well as a scene in Kota Kinabalu Airport.
