mauriceoxford ![]() | I think the light is playing tricks - in that shot from above you can actually see the other side of the webasto on the right; it's just been pictured half in the sunlight so you can't see much of a shadow. | 2022-03-09 19:55

dsl ![]() | Something odd - US sales normally listed as 76-79, which clashes with film date. This is clearly US-ish, so maybe an early test/development car. Type 75 was 1974-79 2.0 litre, Type 83 1980-82 2.2 litre. | 2021-04-15 22:38

Ken S ![]() | The white car behind it is a Renault 15 - like a 17, but a smaller engine, rectangular headlights, and full length side windows. Both were coupe versions of the 12. | 2019-09-02 13:59

dsl ![]() | Black rear panel was short-lived feature, probably around 1965-68 only. Doesn't seem to occur on 1800 GT and probably too early for 1968+ 3-Litre, so Ford-engined 1965-69 1500 GT or 1600 GT seems most likely. googling pics of 1500 GT shows a few with black panel, but none spotted for 1600 GT. So entering as early 1500 GT. Orange with white stripe alongside is a Rapier H120 - any other view?? |

andrepa ![]() | i think the 2 air slots grille was used with II and III with number of slots giving a hint on chassis -It was the Bristol bus even longing for more air resulting in 4 slots to ban the destination sign into the roof called the Bristol dome. -while Ford or Seddon had 3/2 slots with MK II as well as with MK III bodies Here are the features making this a MK III : -squared-off destination sign chrome surrounded, while a MK II allways had rubber and more rounded corners -the dual framed strip in bicolor only meeting at the front end, while some III had still the older style chrome a MK II never comes with>>> -clap hand pantograph whipers introduced with MK III -once again wether there are slots or not the number and position has nothing to do with generation, but air flow of engine and therefore with chassis indeed! a Bristol for example will allways need maximum of air slots possible. -the key to identify will be to know the operator first so the National Bus Company generally opted for only a single strip on otherwise dual strip MK III but a MK II never had hand clap whipers! even without grille we can identify MK II by round rubber sign + single strip + conventionnel whiperswanted to avoid by first comment, entering now mined terrain! ours is a late Elite but not a Ford as a Ford would have 3 slots resulting in higher position of sign not a Bristol 4 slots Link to "encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com" https://www.flickr.com/photos/tcd481j/15538169312 it can be a Seddon ; a Bedford or maybe a Leyland Elite III with 2 slots without badge as there is no evidence for other makes used the 2 slots grille but even this can't be excluded https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7229/7008729085_8072b5c11d_b.jpg once again the hand clap whipers are most significant Link to "busesandbits.smugmug.com" -- Last edit: 2018-06-19 12:16:08 |

dsl ![]() | It's basically a Renault 4 with a posh frock - equivalent of the Dyane compared to 2CV. Sold fairly well - we have 398 of them, including assembly in places such as Spain and South America. Looks like this is 850 as no vents under grille as used on 1100 which meant number plate sat on bumper. I think it's a late colour so matches removal of wing indicators in Sept 71. |

DMZ02 ![]() | It looks like the parking of The Dorchester hotel. Next to Hyde Park in Mayfair | 2018-06-18 16:47
zodiac ![]() | There's no chromed side strip and not enough brightwork around the rear wheel arch, thus no [W 112]. That leaves us with the choice of two models, which isn't separable if not looking under the hood/bonnet or on the left hand side of the rear stem where the model designation is written. It's either a Mercedes-Benz 220 Sb or SEb, both [W 111], the 220 b had a different rear end, and so had all the [W 110] models. |
