130rapid PLIt's worth to precise. The Realoem BMW catalogue shows that 1800 samples built April-Dec 1971, had rectangular headlights, grill & tail lights taken from 2000, indeed. So this one is 'factory correct' car. With '1800' tail badge, not '2000 1.8'. 2021-06-29 16:34
993cc VAFilmed in 1975? Interesting that even before this model was dead (late '76) they already had started importing cheap-er USA cars in Europe (if this one is any indication). Used Euro Veloces still expensive apparently.
Sidemarkers and under bumper indicators = made-for-US 1972+ [115.01].

late edit: according to the German wiki (and not the English one) there was one after all:
"The BMW 1800 with round headlights was replaced in 1970 by the BMW 2000 1.8 L and got the look of the 2000 model with wide rectangular headlights and the larger rear lights."
Still, sounds like they looked identical unless you opened the engine bay (and even then..). So since 1.8lt 2000 much rarer, made for less than 2 years, common 'proper' 2000 most likely here. Unless there's something else going on...

DynaMike wrote 1962 only Belgian built AZM3 (or were they called 2CV Luxus in Germany?), made for D.
1962 by the front indicators.
Pre 1963 by old dashboard (no electrically driven wipers).
Belgian by the front indicators, the Hella taillights, the third side window combuined with suicide doors.
Made for D by the position of the license plate lights (German plates were bigger).

Hi DynaMike

you were very close ;-) "Katastrophulus" is in fact a Belgian built AZL3 (between Mai 61 and October 1962). The AZM3 was presented in Spring 1963, it is the Belgian equivalent of the AZAM (fitted with a third window like the AZL3). And you are right, the AZL3 was mostly called 2CV Luxe or Luxusausführung in Germany, but oftentimes Citroen in Germany also used the official name AZL3 in folders and ads. As far as I know in the NEtherlands it was only refered to as AZL3 or AZL - am I right? At least , I´m really happy to see those photos, because it is very rare to find photos of old German 2CV.
kind regards to the Netherlands
