I'll say it before ingo does again: no, it was not sold in Holland. :D

Eeh, no! The "Weltmeister"-edition was in 1972, when the Käfer overtook the Ford T and became the most built car model.

There was a special edition for the Weltmeisterschaft 1974, a 1200 in cliffgrün.
And every member of the German team got a Käfer Cabriolet.
Recently there was a story about one of those, the owner was maybe Jupp Heynckes IIRC.

why a limited edition? :??:
The colour looks like the 1971 geminimetallic -if original-, the only linited edition back than was the "Weltmeister", which was always in marathonmetallic.
The alloys are some unique Italien stuff, nice looking, coveted by the freaks, but generally illegal (at least in Germany)

Weasel1984 PLSo let's call this one Austin, thanks. 2007-10-27 18:54
rpcm PTAccording to the Swiss magazine "Revue Automobile" in its "Numéro catalogue - 1970" both Austin and Morris MkII [ADO16] were sold in Switzerland. The four-door versions were only available in 1300 form. Curiously, the only two-door version with the 1300 engine available there was the Austin America. So, the car on the pic can be a 1968+ Austin or Morris 1300 MkII, since from this angle it's not possible to tell one from the other. The choice is yours, Michal.

Alexander DEThe Innocenti versions of the ADO16 used the Mk.1 style rear wings until the very end of production in 1974.

Both Austin and Morris had a sand colour in the programme, but I cannot tell if they were identical.
I am certain that Austin cars were sold in Switzerland, I don't know if Morris cars, too.

Perhaps our ADO16 expert can help.

The Primula isn't an ADO16 ! And Autobianchi isn't Innocenti !

Ingo DE@Weasel: it's a Swiss plate. In the past back Swiss plates were a bit bigger than today. It also can be a German plate, but this Morris/Austin was very rare. British cars were always unpopular in Germany, you even couldn't buy most of the models. In all neighbour-countries there were much more British cars to see than in Germany.

Buc84 USHad to look at the grille ID pics in an old Chiltons (From 1972!!) I had handy.....1967 & 69 are rectangular,1968 are round.1967 has a different grille,so that leaves 1969?? 2007-07-29 20:21
rpcm PTTo the administrator who changed the listing: I followed the pattern other Giulias are listed on the site. Although they look very much alike on the outside, there are lots of different versions and variations. 2007-07-29 20:19
rpcm PTYes, by the shape of the rear lights, the rectangular indicator repeaters on the front wing and the numberplate lights it's a 1968 ( model year )+ Austin or Morris MkII ( a 1300, perhaps? ). 2007-07-29 20:11
rpcm PTAlthough the shape of the overiders is not too clear, it seems to have the newer bumper. By the type of hubcaps, the lack of chrome trim on the sill, the rear lights and the position of the badges on the bootlid, I would say it's a 1969+ 1300 TI.
