sixtiesswing ![]() | Yes, very interesting. I was just watching a clip where several Ford Taunus police cars are at the front line, and these two Novas / Chevy IIs come up behind them. Its rather surprising to me considering how many other albeit more mundane choices were offered from manufacturers in much closer promixty to Greece. I don't see any GM Suisse badging on the grille, and best I know is that Swiss assembly of the Chevy II was the original generation only. I wonder what sort of process was involved in determining police equipment expenditures by that police force (which I assume is Athens). | 2023-07-01 00:36

fuochi ![]() | It is also probable that the car is the Rekord A 2600 L, because Omar Sharif was saying to Belmondo that he was driving at 170 km/h (in the film it is also possible to see the Fiat speedometer at 170), and the only Rekord A that can go near to that speed is the 2600 L with the six cylinders engine. However I have not found a confirmation of that in the pictures of the film. | 2021-05-14 17:51

LadaLover ![]() | No, here are cars in Royalblau: http://opel-rekord-a-b.blogspot.com/search/label/color%20%3D%20Royal%20Blue The car in the movie is obviously black, despite of thick mud'n'dust cover. I'm working on scale model of it now, so I know of what I'm saying |

zorglub ![]() | It's a '65 Ford Galaxie 500 (Body Style 57B) or a Galaxie 500 LTD (Body Style 57F). These both models are the only one's availiable with a four door Hardtop body style from the Ford's full size range in 1965. | 2020-04-11 23:11

dsl ![]() | I think this page has been changed around since the 2011 comments. Not sure if it's still the same main, and the thumb has disappeared. This may or may not have been the original thumb, but usefully captures the grille .. to echo another case of the odd use of a 12/50 grille on a solid-roofed Greek Herald 1200 here and re-dating to 1965 to match. |

juima ![]() | Under the direction of Henri Verneuil I know a very small film. Jean-Paul Belmondo, the classic of French cinema Bébel, is burning Paris? The Brain, The Magnificent, The Alpagueur, Cop or Thug, The Professional, The Marginal, The Guignolo or the Ace of the Ace. I see another character Robert Duranton: the bodybuilder of the nightclub he has played: The git: The athlete in the shower and The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob: A CRS in Orly. | 2019-04-21 13:07

ddgonzal ![]() | Yes, left-hand drive Datsun 1200 sedan. Probably filmed in Greece, given that much of the movie was filmed in Athens plus you can see the Astor hotel. | 2011-04-02 02:37

zodiac ![]() | How can you tell it's a 1969 Volvo 144? I once had a 1969 142, and I was taught that from 1969 onwards only the B20 engine was available, which was indicated with a small badge on the grill http://www.flickr.com/photos/govert1970/3282955730/in/photostream/ . I'd vote for a 1967 or a 1968 model. | 2011-03-05 11:19
