AnimatronixX ![]() | That's not Autenrieth of Darmstadt. This one was coachbuilt by Herbert Vidal & Co. of Hamburg-Harburg, just like the older one here: The contemporary Autenrieth conversion can be seen here: |

AnimatronixX ![]() | Correct, Ertel are still in business (one of my earliest funeral coach acquaintances works there) and they still do have a similar car in their fleet, which was bodied by Pollmann. However, the funeral car we see here was NOT bodied by Pollmann. Ertel had several funeral cars built by the rather unknown coachbuilder Herrmann Karosseriewerk of Hamburg and this is one of them. These are so rare that I never expected any to appear on IMCDb! |

an_unusual_eye ![]() | it's like modern art... ![]() a good original early image to portray 903 "Universal Blue", which was available with blue or black as interior colors... looks to be totally stock save for the Amco bumper over-rider bars that were likely dealer installed. |

rpcm ![]() | 1967+ | 2013-06-27 11:52
rpcm ![]() | It looks 1968+ (being a W109, it's at least a 300 SEL). | 2013-06-27 11:51
rpcm ![]() | 1968+ car. Being a taxi it's most probably a 200 D or a 220 D (W115). | 2013-06-27 11:46
rpcm ![]() | Visible details identify a W111. The mirror was changed to the door during 1963, something that combined with this steering wheel makes me think it's a 1964/65 car and so the 230 S can be excluded. Since it seems to have the A-pillar wood trim, I would say it's a 220 S/SE. | 2013-06-27 11:44
rpcm ![]() | 1968+ | 2013-06-27 11:24
rpcm ![]() | By the amount of chrome perceived on the wheel trims, it's most probably a 1966+ car. It could be a 250 S/SE or the less probable 300 SE. By the shape/lenght of the script, I think the 250 S can be excluded. -- Last edit: 2013-06-27 11:22:01 |

tore-40 ![]() | My 1960-63. Sedans called VW Limousine 1960-61, from the year 1962 VW 1200 Limousine. Earlier models with sunroof were, quite right, called VW Sonnendach in the brochures. Lateef ![]() | ^ yes, in 1971 the Opels available in the US were: Opel 1900 (Ascona), Opel 1900 Sport Coupe (Manta), Opel GT and Opel Kadett. Opel Rekord and Olympia used to be available in the 1950s and early 60s, but I'm not sure if it was in 1971. Opels were sold through Buick dealerships, and the Isuzu Gemini (in turn based on the Opel Kadett C), was sold as Buick/Opel in the latter part of the 70s. | 2013-06-26 20:25
