mwbridgwater ![]() | GMC big cab which is AC-500 to 800, but high engine crank hole over the bumper and the gap between the top grille bar and the header above it indicate a 500 to 600 series. Headlight location is 1939 through 1945. Also seen in this movie: /vehicle_62431-GMC-AC-Series-1940.html -- Last edit: 2023-04-07 08:10:30 |

sixtiesswing ![]() | Yes, I remember that model! Very nice indeed. In this episode, it looks like someone attempted to do so in real life to see if the light of a raging fire would operate the lights of the full-sized real car! |

Sunbar ![]() | Morris shaped badge Austin and Morris common grille from mid-1964. Episode from before November 1966. Potentially 'MLB 592D' registered 1966. ![]() |

sixtiesswing ![]() | How do we know that this a Canadian Parisienne and not a US Bonneville? To me, the picture is too blurry to make out any badging, and from this angle, I can't see the track of the car (whether Chevrolet-based Canadian Pontiac or Wide-Track US model). This looks more like a city in California due to the road going uphill and the type of trees. -- Last edit: 2022-07-14 06:50:21 |

Sunbar ![]() | Tentatively agreed Standard Nine Four Door Saloon September 1933 to 1937. Also some indication there was an overlap with the August 1936 Flying Nine because of the popularity of earlier models. | 2019-11-09 11:43
tore-40 ![]() | Same model, was it supposed to be the same car? (No auxillary lamps; one fog, one high beam; also no sunroof visible) Interior shots are.... something completely different -- Last edit: 2019-11-02 00:33:10 |

Sunbar ![]() | Likely to be one of the last Austin J4 vans with the grille bar. Press photo Austin J4 van. After some research about why some Austin J4 vans were fitted with the chromed grille bar (the Morris version never had it from introduction), it appears the grille bar was probably deleted in about mid-1965. |

Pierre ![]() | I feel jdny may be right, even if the front wheel doesn't quite convince. Untidy, non-original dual seat. | 2016-06-10 00:35
Pierre ![]() | Sympathetic looking rocker type who would go for the 646cc engine, surely. | 2016-06-10 00:29
Pierre ![]() | I'd say ordinary 349cc Viper, possibly a Venom. Not a Clubman with that chromed tank. | 2016-06-10 00:18
Pierre ![]() | It's a Commer Highwayman by CI (Caravans International). As the PA, announced in 1965, it will have the 5-main bearing 1725cc Rootes engine, fitted from August that year. The PB van was announced in 1967. (Simoncars.co.uk and commervanfan.co.uk) I can testify to this vehicle's performance: it was good for 70mph (not undergeared like the Thames 400E) would cruise all day at 57mph or so and was quite economical at 25mpg. My PB Highwayman, JYU 187K, met a sad end in 1990. Prior to that, its less than watertight roof took its toll on the van's white finished curved hardboard ceiling. A typical caravan interior for its era, but there are those enthusiasts who believe the phrase 'camper van' is rather unflattering for fine vehicles like these. |

Sunbar ![]() | A few of the later Austin J2 vans look to have separate side-lights under the headlamps! The headlamps before this probably included the side-lights. Much older Morris J2 vans had them with their old grille but off-set slightly. -- Last edit: 2014-10-12 16:08:44 |
